Jishin-hakkou-genshou (a Touhou LW original) refers to mysterious lights that appear in the sky right before an earthquake. This temperament is a reflection of the great influence Satori possesses even though she dwells underground in Former Hell. Satori is endowed with Metal Phase, with her silent and sharp insight, and with Star Essence, from her surprisingly flexible nature.

The cold and silent Metal Phase resists Earth Phase, because earth bears metal, but it is weak to Fire Phase, because fire refines metal.

The diverse and uncooperative Star Essence resists the cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence, but it is weak to the charming and arrogant Sun Essence.

Satori Komeiji's Spread Shot (a Touhou LW original). She pierces her targets with strange thought-reading lasers. Cold reading is an almost supernatural technique used to pinpoint someone's inner feelings without any prior knowledge or preparation. Satori is a youkai who can read minds, but it is unknown what means and manner she uses to accomplish this.

Mind Hack

Satori Komeiji's Focus Shot (a Touhou LW original). She takes over the mind of her target by shooting out strings of light. Satori's ability (probably) doesn't let her take over someone's mind directly, but she may be able to force them to do her bidding through the terror of having their mind read. Satori Komeiji's Spell Card. This attack involves shooting bullets of light that apparently awaken a past trauma, which she attempts to read with her ability. That is how a certain magician explained it anyhow. It's theorized that Satori uses this Spell Card to read long ago memories that she cannot normally read.

Satori Komeiji's Spell Card. This attack sprays forth a plethora of light bullets. A brain fingerprint refers to an electrical brainwave that is elicited when the brain is familiar with an outside stimulus... In other words, it is a brainwave that occurs when you are faced with something that you know of or have experienced previously. Using this Spell Card would probably make it easy to determine the culprit of even the most difficult and complex of cases.

Satori is the name of a species of youkai with the ability to read minds. She can apparently see other's thoughts through a third eye on her chest. Her ability is limited to surface thoughts. However, she makes use of her bullets to hypnotize her target to make them recall old traumas, which she can then read to replicate Spell Cards that they have faced in the past. It seems that she is even capable of replicating Spell Cards that you'd think would require specific tools or inherent abilities to perform. This ability is part of the reason why the big players on the surface are so wary of Satori, and why most of the youkai and vengeful spirits in the Underworld (seem to) despise her so much. Furthermore, those who come face to face with Satori try to pick a fight with her because they detest having their thoughts read. While Satori does not wish for any confrontation, she seems destined to receive it due to her own ability. Her kind and compassionate nature may have grown as a result of her possessing this ability. It should also be noted that she cannot use this ability to read the thoughts in the closed off mind of her little sister, Koishi. In conclusion, Satori is a being that is capable of reading everyone else's thoughts and feelings, with her beloved little sister being the only exception. Yet she also finds it extremely difficult to have her thoughts and feelings understood by others.

Character Analysis

Satori Komeiji was released on September 3rd, 2021 in "Festival Prayer: The Open & Closed Eyes." She was initially a Festival on release and later added to the general pool. For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Official Discord Server.

Satori Komeiji, the Girl That Even the Evil Spirits Fear is what is known as a satori youkai (yes, her name is the same as her species). With the ability to read minds, she is feared and hated by other youkai - well, when it’s convenient for narrative angst at least. As the mistress of chireiden, she prefers the company of her sister, Koishi Komeiji, alongside a wide array of pets. Whilst she may prefer the solitude of the underground, she’s happy to lend you her services.

For farming, Satori is merely average. She can handle some Solo friendly stages, just watch out for any stages that resist Earth or Fire. Make sure to use Recollection: Terrible Souvenir with a Spirit Power UP Story Card first to maximize her output.

For harder fights, Satori’s usage is essentially entirely found within her Solo targeting Last Word, Divine Red Falcon Flurry. If you need some damage on the quick, it hits reasonably hard, or can provide you with Earth and Fire Breaks against a single target. Otherwise, she brings some Fire breaks to the table, with both of her Spell Cards having a slightly above average 1/1/3 Fire Breaks for 0/1/2 Spirit Power with Solo and All targeting, for Recollection: Terrible Souvenir and Brain Sign: Brain Fingerprint respectively. Whilst Brain Sign: Brain Fingerprint has attractive effects on its Bullets, unfortunately the odds are rather low, so if you want to make the most of them you’ll have to retry the fights until they land.

The rest of Satori’s kit is unfortunately negligible. Debuffing the opponent’s ATK is niche to begin with, and all of her skills are unfortunately also single target and low turn count on top of that.

Overall, if you need a Solo nuke who can get her damage off immediately, or Fire breaks Satori’s a good pick. She’s perfectly serviceable, just simply average.

Please note: due to technical difficulties, Satori’s Lost Word pre-attack effect is incorrectly displayed. It’s actually dependent on spirit power spent - 1/2/3 Boosts give you 5/6/7 Yang ATK UP, respectively.

The effect chances on her bullets are as follows:

Since Satori’s going to be primarily using her Spell Cards for Breaks, Spirit Power UP is the best option for her, as Brain Sign: Brain Fingerprint has enough hits not to need accuracy and Recollection: Terrible Souvenir already lowers the target’s evasion. Should you be looking to maximize her damage output, Yang ATK UP will assist her, though keep in mind 3 spirit power will already grant her 7 Levels of Yang ATK UP from her Last Word’s pre-attack effect. Lastly, for stat sticks look to Yang ATK.

Last Word

The Heat of My Fingertips

Satori's best option for farming and harder fights, since she already provides her own Accuracy and immense Yang ATK UP, will be Sharp Bullet power UP, something that The Heat of My Fingertips does very well at. Sharp Bullet buffs are difficult to find otherwise, so there aren't many other options for this slot, sadly.
