Little Sister and Sweets

This is a super cute world of sweets! It's not cold at all. It's warm, happy, and satisfies your heart and your tummy. Look, isn't it wonderful? ...I suddenly opened my eyes to an unfamiliar room. It looked cute, like the bedroom of a small girl. I am a scholar who specializes in a somewhat peculiar field of research. I must have fallen asleep at my desk, or perhaps I was so tired from researching non-stop for days on end that I started having a hallucination... I stood there bewildered before a girl with a closed eye, who was innocently laughing amidst a mountain of sweets.

The girl in the room was called Koishi Komeiji. No, maybe I should call it a world― not a room. It seems that alternate versions of this girl, with different personalities and looks, exist in other divergent worlds. Through my research, I have confirmed the existence of a Koishi Komeiji with white hair and clothes who lives in a world with a freezing cold Underworld, as well as a free-spirited and cheerful Koishi Komeiji... But the girl in this room seemed different to either of them. I continued my observations while the Koishi Komeiji in front of me single-mindedly stuffed her face with sweets. She seemed to be enjoying herself, but there was something disconcerting about her expression...

This is a super wonderful world of sweets! No matter where you look or go, it's full of my favorite sweets! It doesn't matter if it's a good day or a bad day―I'm always happy because tasty sweets are always right there next to me! ...What about days when I feel hurt, you ask? Hmm, I know! I'll just cover whatever hurts in sugar! That way, all the loneliness and hurt feelings will melt into a sugary caramel. Huh? I'm strange? I'm crazy? Why would you think that when there are mountains of sweets, friends, and happiness here? You think this might be a dream or an illusion? ...Hehehe. Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't.

Yes, this world is strange. Koishi Komeiji is the only other living being here. "Here, let's go halfsies! You like these sweets, don't you, Satori?" "Ah! Okuu! I wanted to eat that one! Hehe, oh well." "Do you like these too, Orin? Yeah, they're delicious, aren't they?!" She happily chatted with her older sister and pets, but there was nothing else in this room except for the countless number of sweets―Yes, this Koishi Komeiji was all alone... This is just a theory, but perhaps this world contains nothing but Koishi Komeiji and sweets.

This place is utterly mad. Maybe this world is the world of Koishi Komeiji's unconscious mind, or perhaps it is merely a window into that world... As soon as that thought crossed my mind, I remembered my original hypothesis. Right. This world is most likely a hallucination... No, a dream. A little bit of strangeness only adds to the charm of a dream. That would also explain why there are so many sweets, why she hasn't noticed my presence, and why she talked to her sister and her pets, who aren't here. I turned my back on the girl who was happily consuming sweet after sweet all alone, thinking that it might be fun to explore this dream world until I woke up. "Hey, where are you going? Let's eat sweets together already! Stay with me here forever and ever!"
