Character Analysis
Daiyousei was released on May 11th, 2021 as part of the starting roster.
Daiyousei isn’t a character in the truest sense. Originally a mid-stage boss in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, she has no official name or even attacks. However, due to a lack of characters in Touhou at the time, fans quickly came to dub her “Daiyousei” (literally Big/Greater Fairy), and gave her a personality. Typically in fanon (and in LostWord), she’s portrayed as a kind hearted almost cheerleader sort of character amongst the fairies. This kind hearted nature is reflected in an E-Tier Friend.
For farming purposes, Daiyousei literally cannot farm, as her Last Word does no damage. The only way to farm with her is to bring her to Hard difficulty stages and manually use her first Spell Card, and even then she’ll likely be unable to do stages which resist Metal. Just...don't even bother.
For harder fights, Daiyousei’s main claim to fame are the six Metal Breaks on her first Spell Card. She’s going to need some Spirit Power support to accomplish it, but she’s the bane of anyone weak to Metal as a result. Additionally, she can also provide some decent Yang ATK support between her third skill and when she boosts thanks to her Character Ability, alongside some decent Yang DEF and Agility support. Finally, she can also provide some healing.
She has two big weaknesses for a big fairy. First, her damage is extraordinarily low, as her Last Word deals no damage, and her only damaging Spell Card is mixed, making it hard to support. Secondly, in spite of being a big fairy, her health pool is rather small - which is a detriment to her healing as healing scales off of the healer’s max health.
Still, if you need either six Metal Breaks and/or Yang ATK support, maybe some healing, she’ll be of assistance. Just make sure not to expect too much - she may be big, but she’s still a fairy.
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on May 27, 2023)
Spell Card
If you're looking to double down on Daiyousei's Support, look to cards like Myouren Temple Anniversary and Nameless Adventurers. If you're trying to get up her Spirit Power to land 6 Metal breaks via her Spell Card 1, use cards like The Witch of Scarlet Dreams. If you want to use her Spell Card for damage for whatever reason, use Metal/Heavy boosting Cards like Disillusion (with additional Support) and The Secret God of the Sky.

Nameless Adventurers

Tropico Fantasia!
Having an Aid Last Word strips away Daiyousei's chances of using an attack that can deal high damage. Because of this, we may as well work with other kinds of cards that can double down on team support further such as:
Spirit Power: Myouren Temple Anniversary (with Yang DEF DOWN on an enemy), Dancers Take the Stage!
Yang ATK: Nameless Adventurers, Disillusion
Yin ATK: Tenma Mountain Starfall (Debuffs Yin ATK of all enemies as well), Mansion of Memories
CRIT ATK: Worlds in Hand, Lunatic Red Eyes
Accuracy: A Warm Meal, Ability Cards?
Barriers: Tropico-Fantasia!, Boundary of Sleep and Vigil (keep the Focus UP in mind), Summer Rocket, Little Laplace's Demon, Moriya Anniversary
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Firstly, Healing Wish has an extremely paltry healing value of 15% at level 1. It should be brought up to at least level 7, as it is extremely easy to reach that level. Further levels in the skill should be saved for when you’re out of other targets to raise. Next, Fairyland of Fairy Tales can be raised when you’re out of other targets to raise, as whilst it isn’t a very powerful skill, it’s still more powerful than Fairy Cheer, which is pretty much completely worthless as most crit attackers already boost their crit accuracy by more than enough, and should only be raised once you have literally no other friends who need skills leveled up.

Daiyousei's Spell Card (a Touhou LW original). Cirno overheard a story about fairies in a foreign land when she went to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Then, she told the story to Daiyousei, who made this Spell Card based on it―the result of a story told and retold. Why did it end up like this...?*Pre- and Post- effects assume max level. Spell Card Upgrade - Hoax: Cottingley Fairies
Daiyousei's Spell Card (a Touhou LW original). This was the new Spell Card she came up with after hearing about something that happened in the outside world from Luna Child. When Daiyousei first heard the story, she thought, ''Humans in the outside world are so strange. Why go to the trouble of making fake fairies when it'd be so much easier to ask real ones to come?''*Pre- and Post- effects assume max level.
