Character Analysis
Doremy Sweet (Kaiju of Dreams and Mysteries) was released on April 28th 2023 on Prayer “150-03 Baku-Type Ultra Festival”.
Doing her part in the mutated Kaiju takeover is a dreamy, peculiar being identified as Kaiju 150-03. This Baku-Type entity’s prowess when it comes to manipulating the dreams of anyone and everyone is second to none, and maybe you might be met with some peculiar nightmares as a result of the meddling by this particular Kaiju, or maybe she made them very enjoyable. It’s hard to tell what her true motives are behind her smug exterior, but she is very good at bringing down the guard of those who obstruct her, with dreams of course.
H5 Doremy Sweet is a Debuff-Class friend who weakens her foes with Yang DEF, CRIT DEF, Yin DEF debuffs as well as wide Blind Anomaly utility.
As a Debuffer
- Reduces the Yang DEF of enemies via Skills 1 & 3, First Spell Card Pre-ATK, Last Word Pre-ATK and in Focus Shot and Last Word Bullet lines.
- CRIT DEF debuffs on enemies from Skills 1 & 2 and Last Word Pre-ATK.
- Can debuff Yin DEF with her Skill 3.
- Debuffs Evasion with her Last Word Pre-ATK.
- Debuffs Accuracy with Spell Card 1 Pre-ATK and bullet lines from Spread Shot and Second Spell Card.
- Slight Yang ATK debuffs on a Focus Shot and First Spell Card bullet line.
As an Attacker
- Has a High Yang ATK Stat at 1900.
- Gains 1.50 Spirit Power from her Skill 3.
- Gains a slight Agility buff from her Skill 1.
- Gains a slight Yang ATK buff from her Last Word Pre-ATK.
- Increases the Accuracy of herself and her teammates for every Graze she does, as well as from a bullet line on her first Spell Card.
- Moderate Killer range, which includes Moon, Lunar Capital, Underworld and Former Hell.
- Elements mostly focus on Star and Water, the latter more so being the case in her Last Word.
As a Utility
- Multiple sources of Blind infliction: Skill 2, First Spell Card Pre-ATK, Second Spell Card Post-ATK, her Passive 2 on an enemy and on her Focus Shot bullet lines.
- Due to her Ability, she inflicts even more Blind anomalies to whoever inflicts them onto her.
- Blind anomaly breaks are executed by her Spread Shot, First Spell Card and Last Word, all unlocked at 2P.
- Is able to increase the team’s Evasion when boosting, as well as increase her own Evasion from her Second Spell Card Pre-ATK.
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on April 30, 2023)
Spell Card
Since H5 Doremy unfortunately lacks her own buffs for the most part, Story Cards will help a lot with it. Firstly, more Spirit Power is never a bad thing, and what better card to use than The Witch of Scarlet Dreams! Next up is Kasen’s Senkai, providing a Yang ATK buff for Doremy while allowing her additional buffs here to last for 3 turns. On top of that, this card also has a 25% Boost in Body Bullets, which actually really benefits her Second Spell Card in terms of damage. If you aren’t too worried about Yang ATK buffs though, Stand-In Shrine Maiden is a great choice here. Speaking of Spell Card damage, The Secret God of the Sky is perfect for her first Spell Card due to its 50% Boost in Heavy Bullets and an additional CRIT ATK buff, should that be of any use. Lunar Capital Stasis Plan is also a viable card here too if you want to go insane with Yang DEF debuffing in addition to Heavy bullets on her First Spell Card.
Last Word
Infinity Garden and Little Sister and Sweets are easily the best picks here due to H5 Doremy having a Laser Last Word which can get boosted by 50% and 45% respectively. We also have Lunar Capital Stasis Plan for the insane Yang DEF Debuffing, but this time with 4 of the 6 Water bullets in H5 Doremy’s LW. If you need a more accessible option though, there is the classic Ordinary Magician with a mix of handy effects: 3 Stages of Yang ATK, a tiny CRIT ATK buff, and of course, a boost in Laser bullets by 25% which serves as a budget option for Laser buffs. Honorable mentions for their 35% Boosts in Laser go to Occult Circle and Winter Holiday.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
The Third Skill, Dream Channels is the best choice of the three Skills, due to the mix of debuffing and Spirit Power gain here. Next up is the First Skill being Dream Remaster due to the debuff utility via Yang DEF and CRIT DEF provided. Finally, we have Dream-Maker’s Cut which is still a solid Second Skill due to its Blind Anomaly utility, but takes bronze against the other two.
Character Strengths
Eternal Debuff Dream
Being a Debuffer, H5 Doremy demonstrates what she is capable of by weakening the Defense of her enemies, whether it be Yang DEF, CRIT DEF or even Yin DEF, she does it all, and while Yin DEF isn’t going to benefit H5 Doremy specifically, it doesn’t appear as frequently, as it’s just located in her Skill 3. That said, some Yin-based allies could still benefit from this. This smug Kaiju is probably aware of this though, as she focuses a lot on Yang DEF and CRIT DEF debuffing, which she will take advantage of a lot more due to them appearing a lot more in her kit.
A Baku of Blindness Never Seen Before
Something H5 Doremy takes great advantage of is Blind anomalies, leaving enemies struggling to escape from it. With Skill 2 targeting all allies, both Spell Cards Blinding either a specific target or all enemies, her 2nd Passive always hitting an enemy every turn, and her Focus Shot bullet lines, enemies will inevitably have to deal with this Baku-Type Kaiju’s Blinding shenanigans. It doesn’t end there though, since she will even inflict these anomalies to whoever inflicts them onto her. Should she want to break them though, she just needs to reach 2P and use either her Spread Shot, First Spell Card or Last Word.
Character Weaknesses
Top Tier Damage is Just a Dream
While extensive debuffs and blind anomaly utility is nothing to sneeze at, when it comes to raw damage, she struggles for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, her Killer range is rather limited, with the aforementioned CRIT DEF debuffs struggling to see full usage from H5 Doremy (maybe other Friends can capitalize on it). Secondly, the buffs she can provide herself are extremely limited, with slight buffs for Yang ATK on Last Word Pre-ATK, 1.50 Spirit Power and Agility. Lastly, despite using both Hard and Slice scaling, with Yang DEF and Agility, as well as low percentages, it’s going to be unlikely to see them make a huge difference.
Next to Zero Team Buffs
It’s not too surprising given H5 Doremy is a debuffer, but with the only team-wide buffs being from her Ability, and with them being Evasion from Boosting and Accuracy from Grazing, this Kaiju heavily being reliant on external support is an understatement. Hopefully that wouldn’t be too much of a nightmare to pull off…
Elemental Inconsistency
H5 Doremy’s strongest elements are Star and Water, with the latter especially being the case for her Last Word. Unfortunately, due to other elements such as Fire, Earth, Wood and Metal being a disturbance in her elemental potential, her Star breaks won’t be too impressive as a result of this. You will especially notice this from her rainbow themed First Spell Card.
