A Spell Card of Miyoi Okunoda from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). Mountain whales, or ''yama-kujira'' in Japanese, is another name for wild boar. This name came about because of the historic bans on the consumption of four-legged animals and chickens in Japan. The people of the past found inventive ways to circumvent these rules, like pretending rabbit meat was bird meat, which led to rabbits being counted with the same word as birds in modern-day Japanese. Calling boar mountain whales follows the same logic since whales were thought to be fish in the past, and everyone was allowed to eat fish. This may seem dishonest, but meat is just that delicious. The protein is also good for you.
Incidentally, wild boar hot pot is called botan nabe, but this is for an entirely different reason. It is named as such because the way the boar meat is arranged in the pot resembles a ''botan,'' the Japanese word for ''peony.''

The ability of Miyoi Okunoda from the world delirious with eternal summer (a Touhou LW original). This ability isn't all that different from the abilities of Miyois from other worlds... Wait, what was her ability in our world, again? Perhaps it's being a good cook or maybe just a good person in general. There are rumors of strange phenomena occurring around her, but you can't believe every rumor you hear.
The other Miyois might be different, but this world's Miyoi decided she wanted to try participating in battles of bullets. However, ''battles'' in the Gensokyo of Eternal Summer are basically synonymous with playing at the beach, and there's nothing strange about a girl Miyoi's age wanting to play with all her friends. Fortunately, her job at the beach house isn't that busy. In fact, she applied to be a waitress there because she wanted to join in on the battles of bullets. It would have been difficult for Miyoi to collect the materials necessary for a swimsuit on her own, but she had no trouble collecting the fabric offcuts that everyone else threw away. Is this that sustainability thing everyone talks about in the outside world?
Her swimsuit may be made out of scraps, but the quality leaves nothing to be desired. The owner of Beach House Kourindou is exceptionally skilled. Not only can he perceive information about tools, but he is also good at combining them, as shown with Marisa's mini hakkero. And, of course, he's an expert tailor, too, evidenced by the shrine maiden clothes he's made. Just look at this swimsuit. It's absolutely stunning!
Battles of bullets in this world are more than just games. They are a means of defense against the lost fairies. Miyoi knew this. Of course, she also wanted to play, but her decision to participate in battles of bullets mostly came from a genuine desire to help people. Miyoi actively assisted the humans in evacuating the village when it sank beneath the waves, and she played a big part in making the new village what it is today. However, her motives are only partially altruistic. She wants to regain the life she has lost.

For a forgettable presence (by nature), the poster girl of Geidontei comes with many titles. Some have called her a suima, a youkai who uses the powers of alcohol to get others stone drunk, remembering nothing of their actions the night before. Others know her as a zashiki-warashi, a benevolent youkai who inhabits a household, bringing it good fortune. To those who frequent Geidontei to enjoy some food and drink, she is a cheerful serving girl who delivers impeccable service to her customers, and always knows the best foods to pair for the occasion.
This variant of Miyoi is very much the same, sans her usual serving outfit. Decked up in beachwear, Miyoi Okunoda (C3) has emerged from the ocean as a Technical-Class Friend who debuffs enemy Crit DEF and EVA, breaks Freeze Anomalies and supports her Yang Attack teammates.

With an abundance of Spirit P available to her from skills and Spell Cards, Miyoi can look at options to boost her output instead. Kasen’s Senkai helps her cap her Yang ATK while boost Spell Card 2 damage by 25%. For a more direct approach, Stand-In Shrine Maiden offers a 50% damage boost while also buffing her Crit ACC by 2 levels. Ordinary Magician works as a go-between, for players needing both a Yang ATK boost and some Crit ATK to boot.
Having fun in the sun is easy with both Resort Stars and Beach Sanshoku Geidontei at your disposal, both of which boost raw damage by 50%. The former also gives 2 levels of Yang ATK to help cap out your buffs, while the latter debuffs all enemies Yang DEF by 2 levels, useful when tagging in a Friend to finish the job.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Skill 3, Vanilla Flavor gives her entire team more options with Spirit P support as well as Yang ATK and Crit ATK buffs for the team. Skill 2, Craft Cola takes her own support further with additional Spirit P to fuel her Boosts, which also provide ACC buffs to her team while unlocking some healing for herself. Finish serving with Skill 1, Root Beer to drop a pile of Freeze anomalies on enemies coupled with Crit DEF and Crit EVA debuffs.
Character Strengths
Long Duration Crit Buffs and Debuffs
An experience with Miyoi is one to not be forgotten (ironic). She can inflict multiple sources of Crit DEF and Crit EVA debuffs on enemy teams lasting up to 5 turns long. Her allies benefit the same, with Yang ATK and Crit ATK buffs going up to 4 turns long. These long lasting durations give her the flexibility of extending team strategies as needed.
B-B-Brain Freeze
Watch out for that Dr Eirin she’s serving up! Miyoi has multiple sources that inflict Freeze Anomalies on enemies, with her Spell Card 2 both dropping and breaking them in a single breath.
Character Weaknesses
Unfocused Elements
Although Water features heavily in her kit, she shares her other bullet lines with Moon and Star, with her Last Word holding all three elements. This lack of focus takes away from her breaking and damage potential, splitting it up with potential resistances that enemies may have.
Odd Killers
For such a beach focused character, Miyoi does a LOT of damage to her fellow beachgoers, with Aquatic, Swimsuit and Summer Killers all lined up in her bullets. Her other Killers aren’t as far reaching, meaning she’ll have to make up for that with Crit ACC, though she stands to shine against others in the C3 World.
