A certain war god once remarked that it would be more effective to attack with each golem in unison rather than combining into a single target, but the wind priestess refuted this, saying this was so much cooler. Narumi, however, seems to have just based this attack on Ksitigarbha, who is also known as Lord of the Six Ways.

Character Analysis
Narumi Yatadera was released on June 2nd 2023 in the VS Divergent Spirits Ritual Prayers Pool. For more up-to-date analysis, be sure to visit the Official Discord Server.
Once a stationary statue that would take the shape of Buddha, this magical being became who she is today thanks to the Forest of Magic’s, well, magic! However, if it wasn’t for a certain incident that affected the Four Seasons one way or another, this shy Jizou would most likely stay hidden to the point of possibly still not doing her part in the Lost Word incident. It’s good to see Narumi Yatadera come out of her shell, thus leading to herself and her golems providing faithful assistance.
Narumi Yatadera is a Destroy-Class Friend who uses Earth and Wood breaks while using CRIT and Yang buffs, some CRIT buffs also provided to the team.
As an Attacker
- Increases her Yang ATK via Skill 3 and decreases an enemy’s Yang DEF via Last Word.
- Increases her Spirit Power via Skill 3 and Spell Card 1.
- CRIT ATK buffs for the team via Skill 1, Spell Card 2 and by Boosting as well as individual buffs on some bullet lines.
- CRIT Accuracy buffs via Skill 2 and Last Word.
- Accuracy buffs via bullet lines on Spell Cards and Last Word.
- Yang DEF buffs via Skill 2 and Spell Card 2, also slightly boosting her Hard Scaling output.
- Killers include Human, Fairy, Soul, Undead, Beast, Bird and Insect.
As a Breaker / Utility
- Good amount of Earth and Wood breaks on Spell Cards, especially 6 Earth breaks on her Solo Last Word.
- Tiny Burn break utility via Solo Last Word at 3P.
- Takes 20% less damage from resisted elements (Fire, Star).
- Takes 25% less damage from Fairies via Passive 1.
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on June 01, 2023)
Spell Card
Generally you’re going to want Yang ATK and Spirit Power to strengthen Narumi. Other options if that is already accounted for will include Accuracy, Ofuda Cards for Spell Card 1 and Heavy Cards for Spell Card 2.
Spirit Power Cards to use: The Witch of Scarlet Dreams, Dancer in the Puddle, Myouren Temple Anniversary and Taking a Breather in Spring.
Yang ATK Cards to use: Ordinary Magician, How Irrational…, Kasen’s Senkai and Members of the Yakumo Family.
Assuming the Accuracy buffs in her bullet lines aren’t enough, you could also use cards such as: Valued Tools of the Trade, Ability Cards?, Taking a Breather in Spring, Shichi-Go-San School Visit?! and Poltergeist Sisters’ Concert.
If the relevant buffs above are already covered, the options below are assuming you want to use either Spell Card for high damage:
Spell Card 1 uses Ofuda Bullets with her Yang lines being Wood. With this in mind, look to cards such as: Summer God, Fantasy Sea and Little Sister and Sweets.
Spell Card 2 uses Heavy Bullets with her Yang lines being Earth. Cards like Dropping Keystones, The Secret God of the Sky, Summer God, Fantasy Sea, Incident Shrine, By The Underground Lake and Idola-Deus will do the trick.
Last Word
6 lines of Slash, 6 lines of Earth. The Slash lines in Narumi’s Last Word scream 3 words: Mysterious Sword Master. Not only does this card boost her Slash bullets by 50%, but just in case she doesn’t quite cover her Accuracy from her Spell Card bullet lines, she can use the card’s Accuracy boost to ensure all bullets hit her target. If Accuracy isn’t an issue though, The Moon and Izayoi has a slightly more favorable Yang ATK stat stick at the cost of the Accuracy buff. Lastly, another valid option should you want to take advantage of Earth buffing, Idola-Deus comes in with a 40% Earth boost with a slight Yang ATK boost as well as some great Yang stat sticks.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Supply Golem is important for both the Spirit Power and the important Yang ATK that helps her damage, so that goes first. Next up is up to you since the second and third choices are close to each other, but we will go with the first Skill, Support Golem, helping the team with CRIT ATK more, even if for 1 turn. Lastly, is Defense Golem, slightly increasing her own Yang DEF and CRIT Accuracy.
Character Strengths
Down to Earth Breaker
For a General Friend, Narumi doesn’t hold back with her elemental breaks, especially on her Spell Cards. Both her first and second All-Targeting Spell Cards have 3 Earth and 3 Wood breaks with slightly different distributions, and as for her Last Word, an enemy will be subjected to up to 6 Earth breaks.
Spirit (Power) of Buddha
Narumi is very solid when it comes to the power she can display, as she provides all the buffs needed to bring the damage. From a little bit of Yang ATK, to CRIT ATK that extends to the team, to self-sufficient Spirit Power, she does her job as a potential powerhouse very well.
Character Weaknesses
Next to no Anomaly Utility
Narumi being very to the point with damage and breaks might have come at the cost of anomaly potential. Only being able to break Burn anomalies via her Last Word at 3P doesn’t quite allow her to work well with allies who use anomalies unfortunately. Then again, Narumi already does a decent job with what she sets out to do, with her 2 elements and possibly high damage potential.
