Element Type Chart
Sakazuki (a Touhou LW original) refers to the dish used to drink sake and the reflection of the moon in this dish when it has sake in it. Also, when the two Japanese characters for sakazuki are combined into a single character, it forms a new word which means to go against the current. This is a fitting temperament for Sagume with her ability to reverse fate. Sagume is endowed with Earth Phase, and Moon Essence, two conflicting elements that maintain a balance within her.
The encompassing and regenerative Earth Phase resists Fire Phase, because fire produces earth, but it is weak to Wood Phase, because wood parts earth.
The cooperative and indecisive Moon Essence resists the alluring and arrogant Sun Essence, but it is weak to the diverse and uncooperative Star Essence.

Capable of reversing a situation with her words
Sagume's ability is incredibly perplexing and powerful. The power of the Lunarians is on par with gods, so perhaps it is fitting that Sagume can manipulate fate with mere words. However, the mechanics of this ability are extremely difficult to comprehend, which is probably why Sagume takes great care to avoid saying anything unnecessary. The following are aspects of Sagume's ability that have been observed and are understood. - Her ability appears to get triggered whenever Sagume talks about some kind of matter or event. - Only fates that have not yet come to pass are reversed. The past cannot be changed. - Her ability does not cause the reverse of what she said to occur. It causes the reverse of the event that was going to happen to take place instead. However, if she correctly says a prediction of what will happen, it may look like the reverse of what she said occurred. - Judging by the results of her ability, it can be assumed that it is not only the good and bad that are reversed―everything is. When Eirin still lived on the moon, she taught Toyohime quantum mechanics. According to quantum principles, the future is defined by a probability distribution of different possible outcomes. So perhaps Sagume's ability to reverse the future is, in fact, inverting these probability distributions...

“Fate has begun to turn over.”
Sagume Kishin, the Goddess who Invites Unfortunate Slips of the Tongue, is one of the sages of the moon. Technically a divine spirit, she’s a composite of many different things - including the power of an amanojaku, which is to invert things. However, in Sagume’s case, her very words cause the world and reality itself to rebel against them - if she for example commented on light rain, it may suddenly cease to rain, or instead the rain may instead become a great monsoon. As such, she chooses her words very carefully - making the most of her powers as a S+ Tier Friend.
For farming purposes, Sagume is a solid option who, thanks to the backloaded nature of her Last Word as well as incredible Spell Cards for farming setup purposes, can smash through both multi-target and single-target stages. This does come with a few caveats - she’ll often need an extra turn against single-target fights to get the oomph she needs. Thankfully, the dual-element nature of her Last Word doesn’t hurt that much in those situations, as she does 20% more damage to resistances (this doesn’t negate the penalty, just heavily diminishes it).
Solo Story Card Farms: 3-3-3
For harder fights, Sagume shines like the full moon. Her abundance of Yang DEF DOWN on top of granting herself Quick means not only will she shred the enemy’s defenses, she’ll typically go first (unless partnered with faster attackers with Quick). To break down her debuffs: from her skills, Silent Heron inflicts 3 levels of Yang DEF DOWN (1T) to all foes, and Fate Reversal inflicts 2 Levels of Evasion DOWN (2T) to all foes. This pairs nicely with her All targeting Last Word, Arrow of Evil-Slaying, which features 2 additional levels of Yang DEF DOWN (1T) - this combined 5 levels of Yang DEF DOWN will render any enemy force decimated in the face of a Yang onslaught - albeit, make sure it’s a blitz, since the debuffs only last for a single turn.
Sagume’s no slouch in the personal damage department either - on top of easily taking advantage of the Yang DEF DOWN she herself provides, she can also bolster her own Yang ATK with One-Winged White Heron providing 2 levels (3T, 60% chance for +1 level) of it. Additionally, her previously mentioned ability to partially ignore resistances means she’s a great pick for just about any fight that doesn’t outalright feature anti-Yang measures (such as excessive amounts of Yang ATK DOWN or Yang DEF UP).
However, if Sagume has a weak point, it would be her Break potential. It’s simply a little bit below what the par for good is these days - both Spell Cards feature 1/1/2/3 Moon Breaks for 0/1/2/3 Spirit Power. Her Last Word technically is fantastic at Breaking, with 3 Star and 3 Moon All targeting Breaks for 3 Spirit Power, but unless you’re truly desperate it’s much better served as a Yang DEF DOWN tool.
Overall, whilst she may only have one wing, this heron is stronger than most. Just try to avoid having her speak up too much - unfortunate slips of the tongue could result in disaster!
