The two gods are gone now, but they might still exist in some far-off place. Sanae would surely be willing to go any distance to find them. But what if they are, in fact, too close for Sanae to find? She might unwittingly absorb them into herself. This world's Sanae prevents this by repeating their names, clearly distinguishing the gods who literally dwell in her heart from herself.

Character Analysis
Sanae Kochiya (Human-Deity Duality) was released on June 2nd 2023 in Epic Prayer “Remnant of the Old Faith".
We are used to being introduced to the Moriya Shrine Maiden some time after we are already used to the Hakurei Shrine Maiden, and it looks like that tradition continues here. Once introduced to the blue variant of Reimu Hakurei, eventually we met a yellow haired version of Sanae Kochiya. Having some similarities to the one we know of, but maybe a little more hyperactive and expressive, she has faith in her powers as a Living God, and she will do whatever it takes to put an end to the Lost Word Incident. Hopefully those miracles and the inner guidance from Kanako and Suwako will see her through to the very end!
F1 Sanae Kochiya is a Support-Class Friend who provides Support in many ways: Spirit Power, Yang ATK, Yin ATK, Accuracy, CRIT ATK and Yin ATK II. On top of that, she also brings breaks via Star, Earth and Metal elements as well as Paralyze and Poison breaks.
As a Supporter
- Yin ATK support via Boosting, Skill 1, Spell Card 1 and Last Word.
- Yin ATK II support via Skill 3.
- Yang ATK support by using Skill 1 and Last Word.
- CRIT ATK support through Grazing and Last Word.
- Accuracy buffs for the team by using Skill 3.
- Spirit Power buffs for Sanae’s team via Skill 2 (1.50), Spell Card 2 (1.25) and Last Word (2.50). Last Word is also scaled with boosts (0.50-2.50)
- Barriers for the team by using her Spell Card 2 and Last Word.
- Reduces both Metal and Earth damage dealt to the whole team by 80% via Spell Card 2.
As an Attacker
- Slightly gains 0.50 Spirit Power via her Skill 1.
- Has a great Killer range: Includes God, Youkai, Human, Frog, Soul and Religious.
- Uses both Hard and Slice Scaling. For both, her Last Word has 2 lines at 125% Scaling and another line at 175%.
- Various bullet lines in Shots and Spell Cards can boost Sanae’s Yin ATK, Yin DEF and/or Agility. Last Word has CRIT DEF and Yin DEF debuffing in some of its lines.
- Increases her Yin ATK whenever attacked due to Passive 3.
As a Utility
- If inflicted with any Burn anomalies, her Yin ATK, Yang ATK, CRIT ATK and CRIT Accuracy will all be increased as per her Ability. Skill 3 gives herself 4 Burn anomalies.
- Can increase her own Spirit Power by 0.20 for any Poison or Paralyze anomaly inflicted onto her. Some bullet lines do this on her Spell Cards.
- Poison anomalies inflicted on enemies via Focus Shot bullet lines, Skill 2 and Spell Card 1. Poison anomalies are broken via Spell Card 1 and Last Word.
- Paralyze anomalies inflicted on enemies via Spell Card 2. These can be broken by using her Spread Shot, Spell Card 2 and Last Word.
- Spell Card 1 can remove up to 2 Binds/Stat debuffs on Sanae.
- Takes 35% less damage from Gensokyo enemies via Passive 1.
Story Card Recommendations
(Card recommendations last updated on June 09, 2023)
Spell Card
For Story Cards, F1 Sanae will generally benefit from Spirit Power, Body Bullets, and whatever further support for the team works best! A list of the Story Cards that fill a specific role very well are found below:
Spirit Power Cards: The Witch of Scarlet Dreams, Mountain of Faith, Youkai Mountain Anniversary, Our Dream.
Team Spirit Power Cards: Divine Spirit Tajikarao, Dancers Take The Stage!, Myouren Temple Anniversary.
Body Bullet Cards: Choose an Animal Spirit, Incident Shrine, Stand-In Shrine Maiden, Beach Sanshoku Geidontei, At The Secluded Springs, Eating Contest, Rainbow Dragon Cave.
Yang ATK Support Cards: Nameless Adventurers, Disillusion.
Yin ATK Support Cards: Mansion of Memories, Tenma Mountain Starfall.
CRIT ATK Support Cards: Worlds in Hands, Lunatic Red Eyes, Divine Spirit Tajikarao.
Barrier Support Cards: Tropico-Fantasia!, Summer Rocket, Boundary of Sleep and Vigil, Little Laplace’s Demon, Moriya Shrine Anniversary.
Last Word
Incident Shrine
Secret Sealing Club Girls
I'm Alright!
The Secret God of the Sky
Summer God, Fantasy Sea
Top Student Council Trio
In this Last Word, F1 Sanae’s mix of Body and Heavy bullets as well as having 4 lines of Star would be a precarious situation in terms of assigning the perfect Story Card for her…if it wasn’t for the fact that she is blessed with a miracle in the form of Incident Shrine! This Card’s boost in Body and Heavy Bullets as well as Star Elements all by 50% is an astronomical increase in power for F1 Sanae. That said, it may be required for some to make do with other options. Firstly, if you still have any copies of Top Student Council Trio from Yakumo’s Ambition lying around, that is a surprisingly viable budget alternative to go about the awkward mix of bullet types, as Body and Heavy get a 30% increase, thus also benefiting every single bullet line here.
For 4 of the Star bullets in her Last Word to be boosted, go for I’m Alright! and Secret Sealing Club Girls for their 50% boosts in Star alongside their respective additional effects. If you want to focus on Lines 1, 3 and 5 as they are Heavy bullets, you can get the most out of them with cards like The Secret God of the Sky and Summer God, Fantasy Sea with 50% Body boosts of their own.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Wherever you choose to begin with leveling up, they all have their cooldown times reduced a good amount. Skill 1 goes from 7 to 3 turns, Skill 2 goes from 9 to 6 turns and Skill 3 goes from 10 to 6 turns. With this in mind, you’ll definitely want them all leveled up ASAP, and it’s possible to make a case for any to start off with, but what order should we take here?
Let’s go with number two, Yasaka no Suzu first. That Spirit Power increase from 0.50 to 1.50 is a gargantuan boon for the entire team, and for a lower cooldown too as you level it up. Next up shall be Masumi no Kagami. The benefit of being able to spam this Skill again before its duration for Yin ATK and Yang ATK expires can only be realized once maxed out due to the cooldown difference as explained earlier, and alongside Skill 2, can also allow Sanae to reach 3P herself. Finally, but not least is Wind Priestess. The Yin ATK II buff on its own is unchanged, but the team gets slightly more Accuracy, F1 Sanae gives herself more Burn anomalies, thus increasing her offensive stats.
That said, there is no bad order to go with. Should the cooldowns on Skills 2 and 3 be too tedious for you, by all means focus on those first. Should you want to take advantage of potentially infinite Yin ATK and Yang ATK for the team, Skill 1 is your bet. The world of F1 Sanae’s Skills is your oyster here!
Character Strengths
Faithful Support
F1 Sanae’s powers when used to benefit the team are very beneficial, vast and versatile, especially on the offensive side of support. Yin ATK, Yang ATK, Accuracy, CRIT ATK, Spirit Power, Barriers, even Yin ATK II! These appear all over her kit, whether it be Skills, Ability, or Spell Card effects, and some of these can last as long as 5 turns! As for her Skill 1 though, with a 3 turn cooldown for Yang ATK and Yin ATK buffs lasting 4 turns, this means F1 Sanae is more than capable of maxing out the team’s Yin ATK and Yang ATK by using this Skill again before these buffs expire!
Anomalies, Elements and Breaks
Should F1 Sanae want to use other means to do her team justice, she can use Burn, Paralyze and Poison anomalies. Burn anomalies give her offensive buffs as per her ability, and the other two give her 0.20 Spirit Power per layer. These two anomalies can also be inflicted on her enemies, with Poison anomalies inflicted via Skill 2 and Spell Card 1, Paralyze ones are inflicted via Spell Card 2 and alongside their respective Spell Cards, can also be broken via Last Word, and in Paralyze’s case, her Spread Shot too. On top of that, her elements are either Earth, Metal, or most importantly, Star. Earth is located in her Spread Shot and Spell Card 1, Metal is found on her Focus Shot and Spell Card 2, whatever attack you use has up to 3 Star lines (4 on Last Word).
Miraculous Attacker
On top of Support and Utility, F1 Sanae can hold her own when it comes to damage dealing. Alongside her high base Yin ATK of 1950, her Killers are solid and can hit a good chunk of enemies with God, Youkai, Human, Soul and Religious. Her Slice and Hard Scaling helps a good amount, especially on her Last Word, and her Yin ATK buff duration is expected to never run out on its own thanks to the constant Yin ATK UP bullet lines and her Passive 3 she can fall back on.
Character Weaknesses
Can't Quite Extend CRIT ATK Outside of her Last Word
While she can increase the team's CRIT ATK in short bursts via Grazing, and her Last Word can make the team's CRIT ATK last for 3 Turns, of all the buffs she accounts for, unfortunately F1 Sanae can't extend CRIT ATK as effectively as others like Yin ATK, Yang ATK and Accuracy.
For Story Cards, F1 Sanae will generally benefit from Spirit Power, Body Bullets, and whatever further support for the team works best! A list of the Story Cards that fill a specific role very well are found below:
