Character Analysis
Tewi Inaba was released on July 9th, 2021 in Bunny Trap!.
Tewi Inaba is a seemingly unassuming, playful earth rabbit who is actually, in spite of her at times childish actions, the leader of all earth rabbits. In addition to this, she is almost certainly the White Hare of Inaba, a legendary figure in Japanese mythology. Nowadays, due to a deal she struck with Eirin Yagokoro, in exchange for knowledge the earth rabbits serve as the guardians (and pets) of Eientei. You wouldn’t know any of this from how the rabbit acts like a total prankster, but don’t be fooled: those tricks and traps make for an S-Tier Friend.
For farming purposes, Tewi is something of an unusual case. In spite of having an All-targeting Last Word, she actually shines the most for one boss stages, as her skill set makes her particularly good at pranking a single enemy. For stages with fewer bosses, especially if any of them resist her, her Last Word may fail to knock out all of her targets. Additionally, she excels at a number of boss farms: most notably, for farming the boss of Chapter 2 Act 2, when combined with a powerful Yang attacker such as Yuyuko.
For challenge quests, Tewi provides incredible team support, especially for Yang-heavy teams. This is due to the fact that her All-targeting Last Word provides 3 Levels of Yang DEF Down to all targets - effectively serving as a multiplier to any ATK Up they may have. So for example, Yuyuko’s 10 Levels of Yang ATK Up would effectively become 22 Levels of ATK Up! It also has a good chance of applying Yin DEF Down, though you need to provide her Last Word with 3 Boosts to maximize your chances of it occuring.
That’s not all: She also has three powerful skills, although as they all only affect one target, you must carefully choose which skills to apply to which targets. They’re most notable for applying both (Yin or Yang) DEF Down and two Layers of Barrier Status (Either Poison or Burn), which has a further multiplicative effect with DEF Down: to use the previous Yuyuko example, between the additional 3 Levels of Def Down, and the 2 Layers of Poison, Yuyuko would effectively have 45.4 Levels of ATK Up. Whilst obviously not every unit can reach these heights, it goes to show the power of her incredibly potent debuffs. Additionally, since these are skills on a short cooldown, you can get multiple uses out of them in the Scarlet Devil Tower for some extra value, even if Tewi’s already used her Last Word.
Of course, this is also leaving out Tewi’s own damage output. Due to the previously mentioned interaction DEF Down has with ATK Up, when armed with a Yang ATK Up Story Card, Tewi’s damage output skyrockets through the roof - albeit, mostly against a primary target. Whilst her damage against her secondary targets is still impressive, it’s merely a third of what she can do to her primary target.
Finally, Tewi also has a rather below average kit when it comes to breaking enemies, with her first Spell Card having 1/1/2/3 Sun Breaks at 0/1/2/3 Power, and her second having 1/2/3 Star Breaks at 0/1/2 Power. Do remember however that using a Last Word will lock you out of your Spell Cards, and that DEF Down does not work with a Full Break, so you will have to be careful to keep Tewi alive over multiple floors if you want her to both Break and then later provide amazing DEF Down support.
Overall, Tewi combines both a ton of DEF Down and Barrier Status support with a fantastic amount of damage. You may have to put up with some pranks, but it’ll be more than worth the headaches.
Here are the chances for Tewi’s secondary effects, alongside her Slicing scaling (per bullet):

Story Card Recommendations
Spell Card
Since Tewi isn't particularly in need of extra Accuracy, either boosting her Yang ATK or Spirit P with Story Cards such as Ordinary Magician or The Witch of Scarlet Dreams is your best option. For stat sticks, look to anything that boosts Yang ATK.
Last Word
Due to the fact that DEF Down and ATK Up interact in essentially a multiplicative fashion, any Story Card which provides Yang ATK Up such as Ordinary Magician is by far Tewi’s best option, as even with the 75% accuracy in mind it raises her damage to dizzying heights. Even for farming purposes, you’re best off using Ordinary Magician unless she can kill all of her targets without it, especially seeing as how her Skill 1 means she does not need Accuracy against one boss fights, which is where she excels in the first place.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
It’s hard to go wrong with either raising Fire Pitfall or Poison Pitfall up first -Poison Pitfall doubles down on Tewi’s already fantastic Yang DEF Down support, whilst Fire Pitfall provides her with a wider variety of teammates to support. Pick based on which type of nuker you have more of or, failing that, just flip a coin. Ice Pitfall already does its job perfectly fine in most cases at level 1, and thus can be saved for last or even skipped entirely if you have other units who need skill training first.
Character Strengths
+ Great defensive debuff potential on single targets
+ Great access to Freeze, Burn, and Poison
+ High damage output against a single target
Character Weaknesses
- Skills require careful use for maximum effectiveness, as they each only affect one target
- Damage on secondary targets is greatly reduced
- Below average elemental access
- Must accept a small degree of variance to farm multi-enemy stages.
