Character Analysis
Watatsuki no Toyohime was released on August 17th, 2021 in Festival: Lunar Princess of Peaches & Paths.
The Moon Princess Connecting Sea and Mountain, Watatsuki no Toyohime is one of the two lunarian princesses in charge of the Lunarian Defense Corps alongside her sister, Watasuki no Yorihime. A woman blessed with extreme fortune, Toyohime is a somewhat carefree and soft soul who is beloved by the rabbits of the moon. Even so, she's not one to be trifled with - not only can she essentially teleport to anywhere on the earth or the moon at will, she also possesses a fan that can reduce anything to atoms. That raw destructive power is on your side as A+ Tier Friend.
For farming content, Toyohime is a rather strong All targeting stage farmer, but her output is unfortunately somewhat lacking when it comes to stronger farmers vs bulkier solo target fights (six digit HP on bosses is the normal now, not the exception). You can use Taboo: Comb Torch of Shame combined with a Spirit Power UP Story Card to help her attempt to muscle past them, as that will immensely raise her output.
For harder fights, Toyohime is still no slouch. Her main claim to fame remains her All targeting Last Word - Toyotamaphimeia Machikanensis (try saying that five times fast). It possesses the rare and potent Gensokyo Killer - essentially, a portion of the damage will crit on anyone who lives in Gensokyo (but not Gensokyo’s underground, such as Satori), which is a massive portion of all enemies. As a nice perk, this means that Toyhohime can still benefit fairly well from sources of CRIT ATK UP, making her exceedingly flexible in which teams she can fit in. Otherwise, the 2-2-1 nature of it combined with her skills means she’s gonna hit hard in both short fights and long fights.
That being said, unlike most attackers, Toyohime isn’t just reliant on her Last Word for damage. As both of her Spell Cards are Yin ATK only, they're unusually easy for her to scale off of her better attacking stat. Additionally, they both possesses 3 Turn buffs - Promise: The Path Between Land and Sea provides Toyohime with 2 Levels of Accuracy for 3 turns with a 60% chance for 1 more Level, and Taboo: Comb Torch of Shame gives her the same but Yin ATK instead. Combine this with the Yin ATK and Accuracy she gets from her first two Spell Cards, and if you play your cards right Toyohime is essentially going to be able to keep firing off super high power Spell Cards with the ability to run Spirit Power granting Story Cards, which allows her to fire off Spell Cards with high levels of ATK UP, perfect Accuracy, and multiple boosts - whereas most attackers would have to choose one or the other.
Lastly, the final noteworthy part of her kit when deciding to bring Toyohime along is her absurd amount of Accuracy UP. Essentially, she has so much of it that she invalidates any fight that tries to use Evasion UP or Accuracy DOWN as a gimmick - these fights aren’t the most common, but when they do show up, the lunar princess completely obliterates them with a wave of her fan.
Unfortunately even such a flawless looking princess does, in fact, have flaws. Firstly, she’s a selfish attacker, so she brings nothing but damage to the table (granted, she brings so much that it hardly matters). Secondly, her Barrier Break potential is nonexistent - Not only do both of her Spell Cards have only 2 Breaks at 3 Power, said Breaks are totally different elements - it's not as bad for Promise: The Path Between Land and Sea, as it at least targets All, but her other Spell Card is almost never going to get more than 1 Break.
Still, those two weaknesses come nowhere close to undermining her extreme strengths, and there’s rarely a fight where Toyohime isn’t a great call. Plus, she'll bring peaches for snack time after fights!
Here are the scaling of Toyohime’s Hard bullets:

Story Card Recommendations
Spell Card
Since Toyohime can already have perfect Accuracy on both of her Spell Cards and jacks her Yin ATK up to the heavens while she’s at it if you carefully use her skills and alternate her Spell Cards so that her buffs don’t expire, the only real option for her is cards which grant Spirit Power UP. If you’re looking for stat sticks, you primarily want Yin ATK, but since her Last Word does have a non-zero amount of Hard on it, it’s technically better to provide her with Yin ATK and Yin DEF - but Yin ATK is worth far, far more for her.
Last Word
Toyohime scales purely off of Yin ATK, so Story Cards which provide levels of Yin ATK UP are her best bet. If you can already provide her with 10 Yin ATK UP in a longer fight (which is somewhat trivial due to Taboo: Comb Torch of Shame), a Spell Card which boosts Body DMG such as Eating Contest becomes her best option and catapults her damage to the stratosphere.
Character Skill Level Up Recommendations
Firstly, raise Quantum Teleport to level 9, as the 3 Yin ATK UP is by far the highest value in her kit - level 10 can wait, as all it does is lower the cooldown by a turn which will practically never be useful, especially for Toyohime due to her ability to refresh her buffs with her Spell Cards. Afterwards, Toyohime doesn't really need any more levels in her skills until you're out of priority targets, but it may be worth bringing Thin Cord of Instants up to level 5 to help her deal with Evasion heavy fights.
Character Strengths
+ Great Turn 1 Damage
+ High set-up damage
+ All Spell Cards are Yin Only, allowing her to do damage outside of her Last Word relatively better than other attackers
Character Weaknesses
- No utility
- Almost no Breaks
