Introduction
Welcome to the second Elemental EX Battle Stage, this time with the theme of using units that have strong Fire elemental affinity.
In this article we'll go through all you need to beat this challenge and know how it functions, from an overview of the enemy's team to team compositions you can use to farm it!
Fight Overview
Fire EX Battle Stage consists of 2 wave battles which also re-introduces the Spell Card item mechanic, which restores a spell card that has already been used (this also includes Last Words).
For Wave 1, the main threat will be Daiyousei's 100% Party Heal as this will not allow you to slowly chip away the enemies' HP. If you try to circumvent this by leaving her at <50% HP, you will be met with 3 layers of Poison to all of your units which lasts for 5 turns. This is dangerous because the Poison damage will drain your units' HP overtime, making them vulnerable.
For the Boss wave, Cirno's 10 turn Graze seal on 1st Gauge Break and 10 turn Graze + Switch seal on 2nd Gauge Break will be the main threats for the entirety of this wave as it limits your ability to prolong survivability and forces you to immediately finish the fight. It is generally preferred to use Solo targeting Fire Last Words for this wave as it allows you to have the leeway of spacing out the Spell Card Item drops from the two fairies. This comes with the benefit of repeatedly throwing out your powerful Last Words, which admittedly makes this wave more accessible.

Recommendations
When it comes to choosing what Friends to bring, the most obvious choice will be those with heavy access to the Fire element and/or have Gensokyo/Fairy Killers to ensure critical damage. B3 Marisa Kirisame, E9 Remilia Scarlet, R8 Youmu Konpaku, A6 Sakuya Izayoi (Scarlet), A6 Marisa Kirisame (Scarlet), Hecatia Lapislazuli, Saki Kurokoma, Shion Yorigami, Kasen Ibaraki, Suika Ibuki, Sekibanki, Satono Nishida, Satori Komeiji, Koakuma, Remilia Scarlet, Fujiwara no Mokou, and Rin Kaenbyou fit on one or two of these categories. Outside of Fire elemental units, you can opt to use units with Freeze anomaly breaks like Watatsuki no Yorihime (Peace Temple of Modesty and Devotion) in order to shatter Cirno's barriers.
As for Story Cards, multiple MLB copies of the Witch of Scarlet Dreams story card will be immediately recommended because immediate access to multiple bullet lines will be essential if you want to give your units more fighting power and barrier breaking potential. If you are lacking in this story card, other options include MLB Midnight Tea and It's Spring. Now to bring out your Friend's damage potential, it is recommended to use the best card for each Friend's Last Word which is augmented with buffs and/or debuffs you are looking to take advantage of.
Below is a detailed analysis for the units mentioned! Note that this will be updated as the event goes on in order to serve the best information as possible. Special thanks to #lostword-strategy people who actively helped out on this section!
NOTE: As everyone noticed, this list is currently outdated! This section will be reworked to be fully updated as much as possible in the near future.

B3 Marisa has decent access to Fire elements for both Solo and All targeting purposes, despite having heavy access to the Star element. She provides good YANG ATK, CRIT ACC, and CRIT ATK support for the team, most notably, her CRIT ATK support will be a huge boon to her team if they have access to Fairy Killer. Her spell card 1 can finish off a fairy mob given that she is buffed enough to do so, while her spell card 2 will primarily be used for All targeting barrier breaks. Her Last Word may be Star heavy but it just so happens that her Fairy Killer is prominent on her 2 Fire bullet lines, allowing her to dish out damage that can kill mobs and provide at least good damage to Cirno. |

R8 Youmu's role for this would be the usage of her spell card 1 as it has Fairy Killer and Fire breaks. Her spell card can literally one hit a fairy mob without any setup and if sufficient setup is done, she can even delete 1 HP gauge from Cirno. |
![]() |
A6 Marisa can easily access 2P Boost with the help of her skill 2 which allows her to easily delete a fairy mob using her spell card 1 thanks to Fairy killer. Furthermore, adding a P UP card on the same spell card helps in sustaining her P gains. |
![]() |
A6 Sakuya have heavy accessibilty in Fire as well as huge damage output. Her spell card 2 can be used for Fire breaks and providing EVA DOWN which enables other units in your party to not worry about missing. Her Last Word is an ALL FIRE ELEMENT LW, meaning, she can be used to brute force Cirno given that she has enough buffs. However, be careful in using her Last Word because Cirno has Solo Resist in her 1st HP gauge. The best way to approach this is to full break Cirno and use Scarlet Sakuya's Last Word. |

The delete button of this stage, literally. Hecatia's spell card 1 can delete a fairy mob in Wave 1 given enough buffs from her skills plus some debuffs from the team. Her LW can delete just about anyone in this stage primarily because of Fire element, while adding Gensokyo Killer allows her to have higher potential when against Cirno. However, she will have some trouble in Cirno's 1st HP gauge due to Solo Resist, so the best way to approach this scenario is to full break Cirno and enjoy the sight. |
![]() |
Saki is one of the best choices to use for this stage for a variety of reasons. First of all, her Last Word consists of ALL FIRE ELEMENTS, which allows her to showcase her full damage potential. She is able Not only that, she can also help your party in dealing with the fairy mobs through the use of her spell card 2, which has 2 Fire breaks as well as EVA DOWN to ensure that your team can hit. |
![]() |
Shion will be your primary option when choosing a unit that can both debuff and deal with fairy mobs. Her spell cards have high access to Fire plus enemy debuffs that will be beneficial for your party. She can easily deal with the fairy mobs, given that she is utilized correctly. Her debuffs prove to be of high use as it enables YIN nukers to finish off the enemies more easily. |
![]() |
Don't have Hecatia? No worries, Kasen got you covered! Similar to Hecatia, Kasen is able to brute force a HP gauge from Cirno provided that she has enough buffs to do so. However, just like the other units with Solo Last Word, she will have a hard time in 1st HP gauge but as long as your full break Cirno before committing to nuke, it will be fine. |
![]() |
Suika can provide an AoE Fire break to the enemies using her 2nd spell card along with some team utility. |
![]() |
Sekibanki's role for this stage is to mainly be a Fire breaker with some team utility, but be careful when using her as she has abysmal HP. |
![]() |
Satono provides an abundance of Fire elemental support which are easily accessible, starting from her Focus Shot which is accessible at 0P. She will most likely end up as a Fire elemental breaker with a bit of YIN ATK and CRIT ACC support which may come in handy for units like E9 Remilia, who does not have any access to Killers in order to ensure guaranteed critical hits. |
![]() |
Due to her high Fire elemental accessibility, Satori can be a viable option if you're looking for a unit which fits this criteria. However, expect her to perform poorly in terms of damage. |
![]() |
Koakuma is a YIN debuffer that provides Fire breaks and do good damage. Since she is a YIN debuffer, she can help the YIN nukers from this list to do better. However, be careful when using her because her spell card 1 has Rebound, which will prove fatal to her survivability. |
![]() |
Remilia is another YIN debuffer which can help your YIN based party tackle the stage. She lacks fire breaks but her spell card 2 is capable of nuking fairy mobs if it has a Fire Damage UP card equipped. |
![]() |
Mokou is a good option for this stage as she can be used as a Fire breaker and nuker. Just like Koakuma, her spell cards have Rebound but she can heal herself with either her skills or her Last Word. Unironically enough, the P gain Post ATK effect in her Last Word can prove beneficial in terms of P sustaining due to the Spell Card item so you can use that to your advantage. |
![]() |
Rin can be used as a Fire breaker as well as a good defense debuffer for this stage. Her access to Fire is lacking however, she can access 2 Fire breaks easily at just 1P Boost in her 2nd spell card. |
![]() |
B3 Yorihime has access to Fire on her 1st spell card plus Freeze break on her 2nd spell card, which makes her as a solid choice if you want to have a reliable barrier breaker. |

Community Guides
Below are some of the community made clear and farm comps for the stage that can serve as further reference for your endeavors. These are split into two categories, namely Clear Comps and Farm Comps. Clear Comps do not take account battle consistency in mind because its purpose is to give an idea on how to approach the stage in an uncouth manner, whereas Farm comps take account consistency and/or SP efficiency so that players can grind the stage more.
