Introduction
Welcome back to the Scarlet Devil Tower, are you getting tired of enemies with 6 barriers on every floor? Well, I got some good news for you! Some enemies will only have 5 barriers. I hope this isn't a bad omen for what's to come, but even if it is, it shouldn't be too hard.
As usual, for all your elemental breaks needs check out the character list here.
This is a guide for the floors 171 through 180 of the Scarlet Devil Tower. If you need to refresh your memory about how the Tower works, click here. To return to the floor index, click here.

A basic floor with a shared metal weakness. Try to go for Metal nukers, like:

Hong Meiling |

|
Reward: | ![]() x10 |

No Shared weaknesses here, but Meiling and Akyuu keep resisting solo or all attacks every turn. And the most annoying part is Sakuya tanking the damage and healing her allies for 5% of her own HP. Take her out first to not let them heal. Then use whatever attack Hong and Akyuu do not resist to finish those off.
Look for units that can attack with elements 2 or more enemies are weak to.

Luckily enough we have a Shared Fire weakness that won't be weakened by the opponents' skills. So we can safely leave Kasen for last.
We're mainly looking for good Fire nukers like:

Kosuzu Motoori |
937939 | Fire & Wood |

5 | 3 | Apply 2 Poison Barrier anomalies to All Targets (2T) |
Reward: | ![]() x10 |

A basic floor, only thing to keep in mind: every opponent that applies an anomaly breaks the same anomaly with her shots.
As usual for every floor that has no shared weaknesses, try to find a unit that can attack with 2 different elements that enemies are weak to at once.
Here are a few examples:
175F
Enemy | HP | Weak To | Resists | Barriers | Spell Gauge | Skills |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Hatate Himekaidou |
1351900 | Fire & Wood |
Water & Earth |

Mystia Lorelei |

Sun & Fire |
6 | 2 | Skill:
|
Saki Kurokoma |
1359219 | Moon & Earth |
Star & Wood |
6 | 2 | Skill: Apply 2 Burn to All Targets (2T) EX ATTACK: Disable Switch for All Targets (5T) |
Reward: | ![]() x1 |
---|
Good news first, there are no HP Gauges! So we don't need to worry about Gauge Bursts. But we do care about the EX Attacks, as as soon as the stage starts we'll be unable to Switch or use Focus Shots for 5 turns. Thankfully this isn't very annoying. Now to the Skills, Hatate increases her allies' Yang DEF by 5, Mystia gains quick and lowers her focus by 4, Saki applies 2 layers of Burn to our party. Be wary that while Saki's applying the anomaly, Mystia breaks it with her shots. Hatate reduces Yin Def of the opponent when her Spread shot lands. And the harshest shot effect, Saki's, stunning an enemy.
An easy way to deal with this would be to use Yin nukers (counteracting Hatate's skill), focusing on taking down Mystia with Solo targeting attacks first, and preferably having units that are immune to Burn, or you can just not let Mystia's shots land. Finally don't forget Saki's Shots that stun.

2 | Party’s CRIT ATK 5 Levels UP (1T) |

No shared weaknesses here, and opponents will be resistant to yang attacks as long as Reisen's skill is in effect. So it is recommended to go for Yin nukers to not worry about her skill, or you can take her down first. Another small detail about Reisen is that her Spread Shot has Hard scaling.
Watch out for the opponents' beefed up attacks though as the other 2 opponents will buff CRIT ATK and ACC immensely.

This looks like a simple defensive floor, but don't be fooled! The buffs from Toyohime and Reisen help the team's scaling because Eirin's shots have Hard & Slicing scaling while Reisen & Toyohime have shots with Hard scaling.
Luckily we have a Moon shared weakness, so Moon nukers will be great, like:
179F
Enemy | HP | Weak To | Resists | Barriers | Spell Gauge | Skills |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Daiyousei | 1208356 | Fire & Wood |

5 | 2 | All Enemies Yang DEF 5 Levels DOWN (1T) |

The Legendary Fairy group is here! Wait, never mind, Star Sapphire is missing. Where's Luna?
All of the fairies are debuffing our team, making our Yin attacks weaker, our Yang defense lower and our moves slower. An effortless way to bypass this is to use a Yang nuker that preferably doesn't have Slicing scaling. Or you can always use whoever but only attack when the skill isn't in effect (when the opponent has been full broken)
As usual for floors with no shared weaknesses, look for units that can attack with different elements 2 units are weak to.

In addition to all that was already mentioned above, Urumi, Yachie and Kutaka all break Poison Barriers with their Shots. This results in Urumi's Poison infliction through her gauge bursts being an almost immediate full break on one of our units if they get affected and a shot lands on them. A good way to counteract this would be to bring someone immune to Poison. If spell gauges being so small wasn't enough reason to not consider stalling, Urumi and Kutaka recover HP when their shots land. Making a long battle very hard to manage as we can get easily outlasted. Another important thing to note is all Opponents' Shots have Hard Scaling. So underestimating how much damage shots can deal, especially after Kutaka's first Gauge Burst can be deadly.
Trying to nuke these opponents won't be as effective because the focus altering part of their skills, as Yachie will take the least damage.
An easy way to deal with how there are no shared weaknesses, aside from anomalies, is to bring units that can greatly harness elements 2 or more opponents are weak to, like E1 Koakuma (Metal + Moon).
Some other great units here are:
