Youmu's Maid Training Guide!

The very first Pre-event in Touhou LostWord, it seems Youmu Konpaku is undergoing some maid training! Rather odd, isn’t it? She’s a gardener, not a maid. But as implied by the name, a “pre-event” is a series of missions and rewards that precede a full event - so you’ll find out soon why, exactly, Youmu’s undergoing maid training. But before then you’ll need to get her properly equipped for the task, by earning a free maid costume for her!

The actual missions you have to accomplish aren’t very difficult. Essentially, all players will unlock a set of new missions every day, until 5/28, and you can complete them at any time before 6/18 01:59 UTC+0 to get a whole bunch of rewards - including a ton of Spirit Points, Coins, some Wind Scrolls, Incense Wood, a few Seal Crystals, and Youmu’s maid costume!

All said, in total you’re going to need to: Clear every mission of the Distant Island Mystery part of Chapter 1, win 20 battles, enhance a unit 20 times, enhance a Story Card 10 times, use 3000 coins, and use 600 Spirit P. Most of these are fairly self explanatory, but here’s some pointers for three missions that might trip you up:

• Enhancing a Story Card

You can Enhance Story Cards by selecting them in the Story Card submenu, selectable from the bottom of the main menu. Enhancing Story Cards can be pretty pricey, but there’s an easy solution to this. Simply enhance a 3 Star Story Card once, and then Part Ways with it. You’ll get a full refund of the tiles and coins you spent, on top of the usual tokens, coins, and tiles. Just make sure not to Enhance it past +1, as you get only a partial refund for subsequent Enhancement.

•  Clear Stage: The Freezing Island X

You may be confused, if you’ve already cleared these stages once or more, as to why they’re left unfinished in the Pre-event mission tab. Unfortunately these missions are not retroactive, so you will simply have to clear the stage one more time. 

• Perform 3 Prayers

Here’s a quick and easy tip for this mission: You can spread out the Prayers over multiple days. So if you do this mission over 3 days, utilizing your daily Prayer mission to pay for the 3 Prayers, you’ll profit 15 Seal Cubes and 4500 coins!

As you can see, none of this is particularly hard. Just keep in mind the pointers for those three missions, and you’ll be on your way to obtaining all those rewards and Youmu’s maid costume! Do keep in mind though that you don't need to complete the missions right away - you can wait until the event starts and do all of the Spirit P rewarding missions then, to have more for the event.
