Dev Letter #13 Recap

Submit Feedback or Error

It’s time for another monthly check-in from Phantasma and Caroline on Touhou LostWord Global. While they are still riding off the hype of the game’s 1st Anniversary, this dev letter has a little bit less to go over than the last two, but perhaps that’s a relief after how much was shown off then! Either way, the order of this article will differ from how it was given during the Dev Letter, and if you want to see the original video then you can just click the link above!

Be The Change

For an update on the Music Video (MV) project (something that is likely of more interest now thanks to this Dev Letter…), Yuka Otsubo and DiGiTAL WiNG gave Hong Meiling some love with their version of Shanghai Alice of Meiji 17, titled Be The Change! Give it a listen on LostWord JP's Official Youtube if you haven’t already!

Current Content Review

Let’s get the ongoing and old features out of the way first before the bigger news. F1 Reimu Hakurei was released between the last and current Dev Letter as the first Friend of Epic quality. These Friends only use Epic Paper Dolls to Limit Break, something that can be found monthly in the Fortune Dust Exchange Shop for 400 dust. The main reason this is relevant to the content in the Dev Letter is the challenging content related to her: Marisa (A6) EX! Not only is F1 Reimu ideal for this stage, full of foes weak to Sun and Wood, but the story card featured from clearing it, Behind the Bullets: Reimu, is optimal for her kit as well! It is meant to be difficult content, so don’t forget to check up on the Gamepress guide below if any help is needed!

Another piece of difficult content added quite recently is the return of Conflux Stages! The “stage” is plural since not only is Youmu Konpaku universe-hopping for a fight, but Marisa Kirisame as well! (Yes, she gets to have 2 difficult stages out at once. Deal with it.) The content scales up based on the threat level, ranked from C to the ever-so-famous EX, and Gamepress is here for you again if you need help on the EX levels!

Enough of hard fights though, as Interlude: Act 1 Human Village released recently as well, on July 1st to be exact! This is more main story content that appears to be based around some pandemonium in the Human Village…who knows, if you play through it, you might get a view of that Sanae-looking figure too!

And one more minor review (although for most, you’re likely done with it…), the current Everyone Wins Campaign! If you’ve completed the campaign, then accept the 600 God Crystals and 50 Seal Crystals reward upon logging in July 16th! Also, if you haven’t already, make sure you entered your email via the Events tab to get a place in the giveaway!

Relics of Royalty

Now for the main course that everyone is talking about, L80 Remilia Scarlet is coming to LostWord Global July 15th to introduce another unit type: Relic! (And no, not Relic Festivals.) If you’re wondering what their gimmick is and somehow missed Remilia’s gigantic spear, check her title: The Heat of My Fingertips. These Relic units are based on the Friends featured in all of LostWord’s MV Projects coming out the past year or so! If you’re worried about missing out on their lore or forgetting about their videos, don’t fret, as the new story mode, Ruins of Memory, will be around to inform you on the lore behind these new Friends!

Relic Friends, unlike Epic Friends, will be sparkable, costing 350 Exchange Points to exchange for when featured on a prayer. While costly (equating to 1750 Seal Crystals when pulling with only Seal Crystals), their insane power, almost rivaling those of F1 Reimu, should be well worth their cost! Additionally, as a special type of Friend, they can only Limit Break from Relic Paper Disks, which will be available for 400 Fortune Dust in the Fortune Dust Exchange Shop like with Epic Paper Dolls. The disk-shape of these dolls shows how much care they put into making these collaboration Friends special! There will be more ways to obtain these disks in the future, so be on the lookout for more information regarding them!

As if that wasn’t enough for this new Friend, her release will coincide with some new challenge content: Remilia (L1) EX! (Not to be confused with Remilia (E9) EX.) As with the previous character-centric EX Battle Stages, this one will definitely be a good fit for L80 Remilia, both as a Friend for the fight and afterwards, as the story card reward for this stage, The Heat of My Fingertips (don’t confuse this with the song, either!) provides insane bonuses for L80 Remilia herself, giving a flat 95% damage increase to her Last Word! It also holds a high Yin ATK stat stick, but a lower Agility stat stick to “balance” it, I suppose…

Last off is the login bonus related to this new content, providing 60 Fortune Dust and a Relic Paper Disk at the end! Like with everything else, this login will last from July 15th to August 5th, so make sure to do everything related to L80 Remilia Scarlet before they all go away!

Upcoming Event

Now I know that was crazy, but we’re not done with all of the new stuff yet! First off, a new event will start on July 15th, titled Princess Joon the Chivalrous Phantom Thief! It appears that Joon has decided to start using her pestilence powers for the good of society…hopefully. She’s also roped others into her scheme, providing them new costumes that can be purchased in the Shop! You can also pull for any of the Friends featured in the event right now up until July 22nd, with a link to a banner summary given below.

Like with the previous new event, Yakumo’s Ambition, this event is split into 3 parts instead of the usual 2. Part 1 will give half of the event story, Part 2 will provide the second, and Part 3 will have the usual EX story with another exchange shop refresh!

Sages of Gensokyo Rerun - Happening NOW!

For something more urgent, you can try pulling on The Sages of Gensokyo Rerun, featuring Yukari Yakumo and Kasen Ibaraki! This rerun will be open from right now until July 15th, so you have to be fast if you want to catch these Friends…or not? As part of an update to the General Friend Pool, some Festival Friends will become General Friends. Yes, this will include Yukari and Kasen, but the estimated date is somewhere Mid-to-Late August. This prayer still is your best bet if you want to snag them right now, especially considering how Step 5 of the Ascending God Crystal Step UP ensures both 2 Friends and either Yukari or Kasen! The choice is obviously up to you, but there still is reason to pick up these powerful Friends, even if they will be added to the General Friend Pool soon.

7/13-7/15 Summer Sale Pack

Another thing that will be gone very shortly will be the Summer Sale Pack. For $5 USD, you can get a healthy amount of Spirit Points, Seal Crystals, and God Crystals! Though just like the Yukari and Kasen banner, this deal will only last from now until July 15th.

Early August Client Update/Delay

This is an update regarding the sudden change of being unable to produce a Facebook Transfer Code. Initially, it was stated that Facebook Login will be removed July 29th and Google Login will replace it July 15th. Due to focus shifting to fixing bugs within the JP version of LostWord, Facebook removal has been moved back to August 19th and Google will come in August 5th. A Client Update is expected in Early-to-Mid August.

Forever Prayer and Roulette

It’s been a good while, but Part 2 of 1st Anniversary Daily Forever Prayer will be out soon! You will have until August 19th to claim one of the Friends obtained daily via free prayers, and along with the Festival Friends featured on the image above, special A-Type Friends - A9 Aya Shameimaru, A6 Cirno, and A12 Byakuren Hijiri - will be available to be pulled! The A-Types are rarer than usual Festivals, making this a great method to find them, but of course remember to not push your luck too hard. For reference on how these Forever Prayers work, refer to the last Daily Forever Prayer article for Part 1 of the Anniversary celebration.

Speaking of free prayers, something announced on the Dev Letter but doesn’t have an image is a Kourindou Roulette reset sometime late July! These resets are a great way for returning players to get 190 free prayers (when doing all 10 logins for the roulette!), so look out for information regarding that in the future!

Upcoming Campaigns

As always, there are some immediate and a few bonus campaigns to give active players even greater boosts for all of their activities! On July 15th, players can expect a 3x Friend EXP and Drop Rate increase for Main Story and Hifuu LostWord stages, as well as 1/2 Spirit Point Battle costs! Just remember that the 3x rate will be until August 5th and the 1/2 cost will be until July 22nd!

Don’t be too sad on the 22nd though, as 2x Errand Drops will be returning from July 22nd-29th as well! For input on how to optimize your errand rewards so you get the most amount of Seal Crystals possible, check the updated Errands guide below!

More Upcoming Updates

While that covers everything that will be released on July 15th, there’s a few other things that were revealed for the end of July. First off, while these character-related EX Battle Stages are cool, the Wood EX Battle Stage should be expected to be a return to element-based EX stages on July 22nd. Along with that, all previous elemental EX battle stages will be attempted to be added to the Special tab of battles rather than Events at the same time.

And last but not least is more Fantasy Rebirth updates, specifically that Kosuzu Motoori and Hieda no Akyuu’s Fantasy Rebirth costumes and Mirror of Rebirth stages will be out come July 29th! It’s a shame they had to be saved until the end due to the other amount of news, but at least Akyuu can show off her stylish umbrella! (Or would she prefer to call it a parasol…?)

Bonus Campaign - Lunatic Clear Event

And if you thought that was everything, we actually have one more thing to go over! The Main Story Lunatic Clear Event is here to motivate any players who haven't gotten to completing Lunatic story stages with a Divine Paper Doll and 50 Seal Crystals on the line! All you need to do is clear Chapter 2, Episode 7, Part 1 (2-7-1) and Interlude: Human Village, Episode 2, Part 3 (usually referred to as 3.5-2-3) on Lunatic difficulty 30 times. Completing the event will also give you a chance to win 1,000 Seal Crystals out of 10 winners and 250 Seal Crystals for 250 winners!

A guide for Interlude's Lunatic final stage will be on Gamepress shortly, but there's always the Chapter 2 final stage to read up on! You have plenty of time to clear the challenge, from now until July 29th!
