Should You Pull?

Maybe. This is going to be one of those banners where you pull primarily for the love of the unit - Flandre is by no means a worthless or even bad unit, but she is extremely situational, and thus not a character you pick up for power reasons. Whilst she is a general pool unit, this banner will be your best (and if you’re willing to spark, only guaranteed) chance to obtain her for a while, and as a new unit, she will not be introduced to the general pool for some time. Likewise, this banner is your best chance to get Hong Meiling if you desire her.

Quick Overview

+ Devastatingly powerful Solo Last Word - at max potential, nothing else can compare.
+ Reasonably solid team support for Yin attackers with 3 Yin DEF Down against a single target.

- Due to unusually low accuracy, she requires heavy accuracy support
- Requires 3 Power for maximum potential
- Low accuracy and backloaded Last Word means that she’s completely unsuited for solo farming
- Unusually poor access to elements, having only 1 Fire Break on one Spell Card at 0 Power and 2 Fire Breaks at 3 Power.

Flandre Scarlet

The Sister of the Scarlet Devil, Flandre Scarlet is one of only two vampires in Gensokyo, and a dreadfully powerful one at that. If that wasn’t bad enough, she’s exceptionally impulsive, with abysmal self control. As such, she tends to stay within the confines of her home, the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and rarely goes outside of it. This is in large part due to her ability to destroy absolutely anything, which combined with her poor self control could spell disaster if she or those around her are not careful.

In LostWord, these impulsive tendencies and ability to cause destruction manifest in perhaps the single most devastatingly powerful Solo Last Word in the game - Closing Schwarzschild Radius. For its power, there are a lot of caveats - it has exceptionally low accuracy for starters. So low, in fact, that the Bullets on it have from 50% to 25% accuracy - meaning she requires both Accuracy Up and Paralyze Barrier support in order to hit 100% accuracy. Additionally, due to its Bullet layout being backloaded, Flandre requires 3 Power in order to deal most of her damage. Due to these two factors, she is unsuited for solo farming, and it will require support for her to be a consistent damage dealer in harder fights.

With all of that said, if you do provide her the support that Flandre requires, absolutely nobody can contest her ability to simply delete a single boss. It often reaches the point of sheer overkill - at 3 Power, assuming you can give her maximum accuracy, she will deal nearly three times the amount of damage that Yuyuko can do, and even more if she’s given additional Crit support, to the point of shattering the visual damage limit.

To help compliment her in this role, she has some team support in the form of her first skill, Frenzied Eyes, afflicting a single target with 3 levels of Yin DEF Down for 3 turns. This can help make up for her Solo targeting Last Word, by enabling her team to put additional pain on a secondary target. For additional support, her Break access is somewhat poor unfortunately, due to only her second Spell Card, Taboo: Laevateinn, having any elements at all - and only 1 Fire Break at 0 Power and 1 more at 3 Power.

Still, Flandre brings so much damage that, should you ever require or just want one enemy to be completely, and utterly annihilated, she’s your girl. This is ultimately still a narrow niche, and one that tends to be inferior to more powerful All attackers, so it’s only recommended you pull for Flandre if you want her from a character love point of view, but she won’t let you down.
