Should You Pull? Bunny Trap!

Should You Pull?

Yes. Tewi Inaba is an incredibly powerful rabbit, and if you pull for love or for esports, she certainly won’t let you down (except, perhaps, into a pit to prank you). However, Tewi is still a general pool bunny, so she may hop into your team at some point down the line. Reisen’s some additional value on the banner, and if she’s one of your favorites this is your best chance to pick her up.

Quick Overview

+Incredible debuff potential, with the ability to apply Yin & Yang DEF Down, alongside accuracy support against a single target
+Much of her debuff potential is on short cooldown skills, making her extremely reusable in the Scarlet Devil Tower
+Great access to Burn and Poison
+Extremely high damage output against a single target

-Skills require careful use for maximum effectiveness, as they each only affect one target
-Damage on secondary targets is greatly reduced
-Must accept a small degree of variance to farm multi-enemy stages.

+Solid buffing potential, especially for teammates with Hard and/or Slicing scaling

-Most of her buffs take a turn to execute
-Buffs are short, at 2 turns or less each
-Last Word deals no damage
-Low damage overall
-Cannot Barrier Break
-Granting the entire party Quick is more of a detriment than a boon

Tewi Inaba

Tewi Inaba is many things: an unassuming looking rabbit, a childish trickster, immature, and also the leader of all earth rabbits. She’s also likely the White Hare of Inaba, a legendary figure in Japanese mythology who’s as old as dirt. Currently, she primarily serves as Eientei’s primary protector, and a sort of mentor to Reisen Udongein Inaba. This is due to a deal she struck with Eirin Yagokoro - she would help protect the place, and in exchange, Eirin would teach the earth rabbits and help them reach enlightenment, and thus, youkai status. These days, however, there’s not much protection that needs to be done - so Tewi simply spends most of her days pranking the residents of Gensokyo and helping rabbits find new homes.

In LostWord, Tewi serves as an extremely potent debuffer and damage dealer. The centerpiece of her kit is her All targeting Last Word: Ancient Duper. Due to it applying 3 Levels of Yang DEF Down to all enemies, she can both support her teammates, and deal tremendous damage herself thanks to the multiplicative effect DEF Down has with ATK Up. For example, Yuyuko’s 10 Levels of Yang ATK Up would effectively become 22 Levels of ATK Up with those 3 Levels of Yang DEF Down! Additionally, it has a chance on most of the bullets to apply Yin DEF Down, which while somewhat RNG, is still definitely a valuable trait.

That’s not all. Tewi also has three extremely powerful skills. The first of which, Ice Pitfall, is perhaps the least useful: It provides a fantastic 3 Levels of Evasion Down and 2 Layers of Freeze Barriers, but only to one foe, making it somewhat limited in application (although still very helpful for her personal damage output and farming purposes). The second, Fire Pitfall, inflicts 2 Layers of Burn Barriers for 2 Turns and 3 Levels of Yin DEF Down for 1 turn: perfect for singling out a single target for a devastating prank. Lastly, Poison Pitfall does the same as Fire Pitfall, but for Poison and Yang DEF instead. These are all on 5 turn cooldowns as well, making them very reusable in the Scarlet Devil Tower.

As for why applying both Barrier Status and DEF Down is such a big deal: they’re multiplicative with each other and ATK Up. To use the previous example, between the additional 3 Levels of Def Down, and the 2 Layers of Poison, Yuyuko would effectively have a total of 45.4 Levels of ATK Up. Obviously not every unit has as many Levels of ATK Up as Yuyuko, but it just goes to show how crazy applying both a Barrier Status and DEF Down can be.

Lastly, Tewi herself is also a rather competent Breaker: Rabbit Sign: Great Fortune Crest has an average 1/1/2/3 Sun breaks at 0/1/2/3 Power, and Runaway Rabbit: Fluster Escape has a slightly above average 1/2/3 Earth breaks at 0/1/2 Power. It can be somewhat hard to use her as a Breaker however, as she wants to use Rabbit Sign: Great Fortune Crest to boost her own Yang ATK before using her Last Word, and she may very well run out of Barriers to keep herself alive if you try to both use her to Break in a previous floor, and then use her Last Word on a later floor. This is because you don’t want to use her Last Word on a floor where she Breaks as DEF Down and Barrier Status do nothing against a foe in Full Break status.

She does have one notable flaw: her skills all only apply to a single target each. This means you’ll have to be careful which skill you use on which enemy, in order to maximize their effectiveness.

Overall, Tewi Inaba is an incredible rabbit who you can’t go wrong with. Just make sure you watch out - she’s an easily bored rabbit, and she’s not above playing pranks on her friends!

Reisen

Note: While she's tagged as a Destruction unit, Reisen is a supportive unit, and simply has that role due to the abundance of Killer in her kit.

Once, Reisen was just another rabbit in the Lunar Defense Corps, who decided to flee to the earth. Once she got there, she was intercepted by Eirin Yagokoro, and after deciding she still had attachments to the moon, she was sent back with a letter warning of Yukari Yakumo’s imminent invasion. Afterwards, Reisen was made the pet of the Watatsuki sisters, who renamed the rabbit after their old pet - Reisen Udongein Inaba (at the time, known simply as Reisen), who had fled the moon some time previously.

Yes, they named their second pet the same as their first pet. Perhaps those on the moon aren’t so different from those on earth - at least when it comes to pet names and nostalgia.

In addition to being a pet, Reisen is still a trainee in the Lunar Defense Corps, which is reflected by her kit being extremely supportive. This is best exemplified by her possessing an extremely rare Aid type Last Word: Selfless Sacrifice (Merciful Marshal). It's extremely potent, as well: Providing a jaw dropping 5 Levels of Evasion Up and Accuracy for 2 Turns for her whole Party, as well as restoring between 30% and 50% of their HP (depending on if you Boost it or not). It also has the slight and fairly minor downside of giving her 10 Levels of Yin and Yang DEF Down, meaning she will almost certainly get knocked out afterwards; which isn't really a big deal, many units are functionally dead or useless anyway after using their Last Word, it's just extremely funny.

Her supportive skills don't end there. Her character ability, - Ability Unknown -, provides the entire party with 1 Level of Agility Up for 1 Turn every time she Boosts or Grazes - perfect for Slicing characters! Additionally, her first skill, Lunar Veil, provides a pretty solid 2 Levels of Evasion up for the party for 2 Turns - though it’s somewhat hindered by providing Quick to the entire party, which is more a downside than a boon as you typically only want your debuffers to have Quick. Her second skill, Making Strength Medicine, is a reasonably potent Yang ATK Up buff as well, providing 2 Levels to the whole party for 2 Turns. Lastly, her first Spell Card, Mochi Pounding: Elixir of Atonement, provides a cornucopia of buffs: 1 Level of Yin ATK, Yang ATK, Yin DEF, and Yang DEF up for her entire team, with a 20% chance for 1 more (scaling up with Boosts, up to 60%), for 2 turns.

Unfortunately, her kit has a major hole: all of her buffs last for 2 Turns. This means that it’s impossible to use Mochi Pounding: Elixir of Atonement, Selfless Sacrifice (Merciful Marshal), and then switch out, as the buffs will fall off on the third turn. The best you can do is use Making Strength Medicine to refresh the Yang ATK Up on the second turn, which still only gives you just one turn to work with. Additionally, both her Spell Card and Last Word take up a turn in the first place to use, which can present a steep opportunity cost. She also has no Barrier Break potential. Finally, in spite of having the amazing Gensokyo-Killer that most units would love to have on many of her bullets, she also has pitifully low ATK stats, making it impossible to get much damage out of the rabbit.

Overall, Reisen’s far from worthless - she’s just very narrow in scope and on the weaker side of things, all things considered. Still, if you need a supporter, she’s definitely an asset, and certainly still useful in Scarlet Devil Tower, which is all about using as many units as possible.
