Right now, the information we have is fairly scarce, but Marvel: Realm of Champions is looking to be a hot new game for any new or old fan of the comics. Realm of Champions is a unique mobile game experience that is tied to the world of Contest of Champions, a very popular Marvel game that features characters from the entirety of the Marvel universe. The game is slated to be released sometime during 2020.
This time, however, there are all sorts of new features and additions to the universe that can be appreciated by any fan. The first thing we saw that was a huge feature is the entire game map. The map is split into several sections and is interactive, including the characters initially available for the player to assume the role of. These areas include the Temple of Vishanti, Spider-Guild, Asgardian Republic, Patriot Garrison, Gamma-Horde, Kingdom of Wakanda, House of Iron, and Pyramid X.
Gameplay has yet to be revealed, but it appears that there will be a large degree of hero management and development, and a great number of old characters inspired by new ones, like Madam Web's design inspired by Spider-Gwen.
Marvel spoke about taking a lot of influence from the 70s era of the comics while blending the newer age of the movies into a seamless experience for all ages. You'll see elements of the old Doctor Strange you've grown to love, blended into a newer female equivalent; much like War Thor taking the stage instead of Thor at the time of the reveal.
Marvel: Realm of Champions is currently open for pre-registration on iOS and Android. We're gonna keep a close watch on this title, as it looks like an extremely fun inclusion to the Marvel Universe as a whole.
