Mystic Vale, Deck-Building Card Game Gets 3rd Expansion -- Mana Storm

  • The board-game-turned-mobile-game gets another expansion
  • Only three more expansions until the mobile game is at parity with the physical edition

If you're a fan of magic the gathering and other deck-building card games, you may have heard of the popular card game Mystic Vale. But you don't need the deck of physical cards to enjoy this deck builder.

Available on Steam, iOS, and Android devices, you can play mystic vale in digital form, and it now also includes the expansion "Mana Storm." You can check out a gameplay video of how this card game looks on mobile with the video below:

Mana Storm brings a few exciting things to Mystic Vale. For one, you'll get the option to use amulets - where by replacing your current mana token with a unique amulet you'll be able to use special abilities and will change the way you play. Developer Nomad Games has been hard at work adding the three major expansions to Mystic Vale into the digital format, and today marks one more off the list.

The game itself is commonly referred to as a "card crafting game" -- as many of the cards have transparent portions that can be used (played over the top of other cards) to slowly fill in and create unique combinations. It's actually a pretty innovative and cool system. The digital game also has a great tutorial (and points things out as you play) for starting players and allows players to play against the computer or in matches of 2-4 real players.

If you're into deck-building games, Mystic Vale (and the new expansion) are great picks for a mobile game. While not free in the app store (cost is around $2.99 USD), the game itself is worth it for fans of the genre.
