New Gameplay Footage Released

The latest entry in the classic Tales JRPG franchise, mobile title Tales of Crestoria, received some attention at Tokyo Game Show 2019. Bandai Namco dropped a brief video showing off some battle gameplay, with the main party against what looks to be some sort of phantom random encounter. Main character Kanata Hjuger even gets to show off a super move in the form of his Mystic Arte, Cursed Bladeshadow.

Crestoria, which is the third iOS/Android title in the series, was announced to be getting an English release in December 2018. The game’s ‘characteristic genre’, a series standard subtitle meant to differentiate each entry, is “An RPG Written in Blood and Betrayal”, which is apparently directly related to the sin at the center of each main character’s storyline.

There isn’t yet word about a hard release date for Crestoria. Fans of the mainline Tales games who may not be as enthusiastic about a mobile release can instead look forward to the new footage of the upcoming Tales of Arise.
