Weapon: Spendthrift Bow+ (+RES or +SPD)

Assist: Positional Assist

Special: Noontime / Glimmer

Passive A: Close Foil / Close Counter

Passive B: Null Follow-Up / Lull Atk/Spd

Passive C: Pulse Smoke / Atk Smoke

Sacred Seal: Spd/Res Solo

  • Spendthrift Bow grants Brigid +7 Attack and inflicts -7 Attack on the enemy during combat in exchange for inflicting +2 Special cooldown on Brigid after combat (not exceeding her Special’s maximum cooldown). As such, Brigid can become a potent supertank for Aether Raids Offense without sacrificing her amazing offenses.
  • Because of the current Aether Raids Defense meta, supertanks can’t afford to ignore their Resistance, even if it’s low like Brigid’s. As such, a +RES IV and a +RES refine for Spendthrift Bow are highly encouraged to make up for her lacking magical bulk. Spd/Res Solo is Brigid’s ideal Sacred Seal too, as supertanks are often at least 2 spaces away from the nearest ally (usually exactly 2 to receive support from units such as Brave Lucina and Male Corrin).
  • Low-cooldown Specials such as Noontime and Glimmer are encouraged because of Spendthrift Bow’s drawback, with the former granting Brigid sustainability and the latter allowing her to score close KOs. Close Foil is vital for this set, granting Brigid +5 Atk/Def if the enemy initiates and allowing her to counterattack against every weapon type except Dragons (which are very uncommon in Tier 21+ Aether Raids Defense). Null Follow-Up and Lull Atk/Spd are excellent B slots, with the former neutralizing effects that prevent Brigid’s follow-up attack or guarantee the enemy’s and the latter inflicting -3 Atk/Spd to the enemy during combat and neutralizing their visible Atk/Spd buffs.
  • Pulse Smoke is the premier C slot for Aether Raids Offense thanks to the prevalence of Infantry Pulse teams that revolve around instantly readying multiple units’ Specials to nuke anyone that stands in their way. Atk Smoke is an alternative and likely a stronger choice against teams that don’t revolve as much around Specials.

Special: Blazing Special

Passive A: Life and Death (3 or 4)

Passive B: Special Spiral

Passive C: Def Smoke / Joint Drive Atk

Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade / Flashing Blade / Hardy Bearing

  • Thanks to her excellent 37 Attack, Brigid can take advantage of Blazing Specials; these activate before combat and inflict area of effect damage equal to 1.5 * (unit’s visible Attack - enemy’s visible Defense). Which one is chosen is up to player preference, as the only thing that changes between them is the area of effect itself.
  • Candlewax Bow and Life and Death are Brigid’s strongest weapon and A slot choices respectively, as they increase her visible Attack as much as possible to take full advantage of her Blazing Special. Def Smoke inflicts -7 Defense on enemies within 2 spaces of the target after combat, potentially increasing Brigid’s damage output by 24 (+10 from Blazing Special, and +14 from 2 attacks afterwards).
  • What allows this set to sweep even Abyssal maps is the powerful combination of Special Spiral and Heavy or Flashing Blade. The idea is that Brigid activates her Blazing Special (which has 4-cooldown), then gains +2 Special charge when she attacks assuming Heavy/Flashing Blade activated and no Guard effect is active. Special Spiral then grants an additional +2 Special charge, meaning Brigid now has her Blazing Special ready again. Alternatively, Brigid can use a Slaying Bow and Hardy Bearing in her S slot to ignore Vantage users.
  • If AoE Specials take into consideration visible Attack and Defense, then why are Helm Bow (inflicts -5 Spd/Def on enemy during combat if unit is not adjacent to any ally) and Joint Drive Atk (grants +4 Attack to unit and allies within 2 spaces during combat) alternatives? These skills allow Brigid to deal more damage and/or perform follow-up attacks more consistently.

Passive C: Joint Drive Atk / Flexible

Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade / Flashing Blade

  • 37 Attack and 40 Speed make Brigid a dangerous offensive force. Her native Helm Bow is excellent for this, as it inflicts -5 Spd/Def to the enemy during combat if she is not adjacent to any ally. Alternatively, she can use Firesweep Bow to ignore counterattacks, although she herself will not be able to counterattack, which prevents her from Enemy Phasing with her respectable physical bulk.
  • Given that this set is offensive, skills that increase Brigid’s Attack and Speed such as Swift Sparrow, Atk/Spd Push 4, and Fury are greatly appreciated to bolster her consistency. Joint Drive Atk grants +4 Attack to Brigid and allies within 2 spaces, allowing her to both support and gain support from her allies.
  • In combination with Desperation (a skill that allows units to perform their follow-up attack before the enemy counterattacks if the unit’s HP is ≤ 75%), Brigid can activate a 2-cooldown Special on her follow-up attack with Heavy or Flashing Blade assuming the enemy has no Guard effect active. Alternatively, Brigid can opt to wield a Firesweep Bow with Lull Spd/Def instead, which inflicts -3 Spd/Def to the enemy during combat and neutralizes their visible Spd/Def buffs.

Strengths

Great offenses

As a pirate, Brigid has been trained to be strong and swift, boasting a terrific 37 Attack and blisteringly-fast 40 Speed. She’ll have little trouble dealing good damage and consistently avoiding and performing follow-up attacks against a majority of the cast, especially with buffs and debuffs taken into account.

Decent physical bulk

41 HP and 30 Defense adds up to a surprisingly respectable 70 physical bulk. Brigid can usually survive at least 1 physical encounter, if not more depending on Defense investment or the lack thereof.

Infantry advantages

Infantry status is a blessing for Brigid, as she has access to powerful skills that augment her performance, including Impacts, Lulls, Null Follow-Up, Special Spiral, and Flashing Blade. In addition, the scarcity of Infantry-effective weapons means she rarely needs to worry about receiving effective damage.

Weaknesses

Red color

While most Archers are Colorless, Brigid is Red. Unfortunately, this hurts more than it helps, as she lacks consistency compared to her Colorless peers; while she deals more damage and takes less damage against Green units, the reverse is true against Blue units. In addition, she has to compete with other Red Archers such as Igrene (who has a personal weapon) and Summer Joshua (whose statline is incredibly similar to Brigid’s).

Low magical bulk

Brigid’s 19 Resistance leaves her vulnerable to being OHKO’d by magical attacks, as her magical bulk is only 59.
