Overview
While a duo is definitely possible, but this guide will focus on the more realistic trio. Despite what some may think, Mega Pidgeot is actually a fairly threatening raid boss. It has some potentially hard hitting and tricky moves that can make for a serious headache if not played around properly, and its high attack stat makes those attacks very punishing if not properly evaded. However, most of its counters either resist or double-resist its moves, which can definitely tip the scales.
Approach
Team composition
- The big-name Shadow Electric Types are the top counters.
- Shadow Magnezone in particular has the best overall performance
- Rampardos has the highest DPS among non-shadow Pokemon
- Zekrom is a high overall performer as well
- The only Mega Evolution currently capable of dealing Super Effective damage is Mega Blastoise with Ice Beam, though this isn't generally recommended due to its overall lackluster performance.
Battling strategy
-
Re-entering shouldn't be an issue given proper team comps in a trio
-
Dodging Hurricane is a good idea. Brave Bird is harder to dodge and hits harder, while Aerial Ace comes out very frequently and can slog down DPS if dodged too frequently.
