  • The Lady of Violets naturally shines when equipped with an offensively oriented setup thanks to her stellar base Attack and Speed, in addition to her access to an abundance of complementary skills. Enhancing either of Louise’s offensive stats with an Asset works well with this build’s intended purpose.
  • She benefits immensely from the Firesweep Bow’s ability to negate enemy counterattacks, allowing her to focus entirely on maximizing her damage for an overall much safer playstylet; this weapon is especially useful for mitigating Louise’s horrendous base Defense. Louise can also put her base Rein Bow to great use to directly pad her damage and follow-up consistency.
  • Offensive A skills that augment both Attack and Speed work well here and are generally Louise’s preferred choices; this includes her base Atk/Spd Ideal (which works really well with Firesweep), Atk/Spd Solo, and Swift Sparrow. One can also choose to use Sturdy Impact if not using Firesweep Bow, as this greatly improves Louise’s matchups against physical threats and helps offset the lack of counterattack negation.
  • Louise has a variety of B skills to choose from as well.
    • Lull skills are quite strong to break through enemy bonuses and gain a stat advantage over her foe, making them great for a sheer offensive lean.
    • Null Follow-Up is an equally powerful option to ensure her follow-up attacks go unhampered; this is extremely important for Firesweep Bow sets, as Louise will be entirely reliant on her doubles for the brunt of her damage.
    • Chill skills are somewhat dated skills to use for such a set, but may be worthwhile candidates nonetheless for their debuffs if nobody else on her team can apply them.
    • Lastly, the standard Desperation (if not using Firesweep Bow) may be considered for its consecutive follow-up effect upon taking enough damage, pairing well with Fury and Push skills.
  • Her C slot is flexible, with standouts including Joint Drive skills (for mutual buffing utility), Smoke Skills (if refresher support is available), and Time’s Pulse (to hasten her Special activations). For Louise’s Sacred Seal, anything that enhances her offensive stats is ideal, though the Flashing Blade, Heavy Blade, and Quickened Pulse seals also work well to let her access her Special faster.

Sacred Seal: Atk/Def Solo / Atk/Spd Solo / Spd/Res Solo / Stance Skills / Swift Stance

  • The flexibility of Louise’s statline combined with her neutral matchup spread and fantastic skill accessibility also makes her an interesting choice for an Aether Raids Offense unit, operating as a strong defensive generalist to her own right. Although taking a +ATK or +SPD IV remain her most flexible IVs, +RES and (to a lesser extent) +DEF may also be useful in the context of AR-O; thus, Louise is largely flexible in her IVs here.
  • Spendthrift Bow is by far Louise’s best weapon choice for its substantial boost to her damage and overall survivability, coming with a relatively negligible drawback (or potentially irrelevant if Brave Lucina’s refined Geirskögul support is available). Plegian Bow is a good alternative that works similarly and may be even stronger if one can easily apply Attack/Defense debuffs on the enemy team.
  • For her Special, those that provide healing work well to further supplement Louise’s tanking ability through a consistent source of sustain. Noontime generally works well due to its short cooldown and can be paired with Brave Lucina support for immediate activations on each counterattack. If using Plegian Bow, Sol may be considered for greater healing.
  • Since her range provides the flexibility of potentially being able to neutralize melee threats during the Player Phase (and thus eliminates the need for her to strictly tank them), Louise can utilize standard stat-boosting A slot skills wonderfully here. Solo skills are the most generally useful due to their massive stat boosts and dual-phase functionality, but Unity and Stance skills may be worthwhile to work around debuffs and enemy Specials respectively if available
    • It's worth noting that Louise can make Close Foil and Close Counter work, but this often requires a sufficient amount of high investment and support to ensure that her physical bulk doesn’t become a problem.
  • Null Follow-Up is the prime B skill to use here to ensure that Louise can shut down foes with automatic follow-ups and/or follow-up negation—notorious effects that are both ubiquitous and lethal in Aether Raids Defense teams. If unavailable, one may also use Lull skills for a greater stat advantage over foes and Null C-Disrupt to handle cavalry lines.
  • Her C slot once again remains flexible, with Smoke skills being worth consideration for their innate synergy with defensive playstyles; Pulse Smoke is particularly strong within the context of Aether Raids Offense. For her Sacred Seal, anything that enhances her key stats—preferably a Solo or Stance skill—works excellently.

Weapon: Candlewax Bow+ (+ATK) / Slaying Bow+ (+ATK)

Passive A: Flashing Blade / Heavy Blade / Life and Death / Fury

Passive B: Special Spiral

Passive C: Time’s Pulse / Def Smoke / Savage Blow / Flexible

Sacred Seal: Life and Death / Flashing Blade / Heavy Blade / Quickened Pulse / Hardy Bearing

  • This build once again places an emphasis on Louise’s performance during the Player Phase, though this time having her shred through opponents with devastating AoE Special activations. Such Specials can be consistently activated on each initiation by combining Special Spiral with Flashing/Heavy Blade or a Slaying Bow, though some setup will be required to get the chain started. +ATK is ideal for maximum damage.
  • Louise has two main weapon choices in Candlewax Bow and Slaying Bow. The former helps her further increase her visible Attack for greater Special damage (as the damage calculation for AoE Specials involves visible stats only), whereas the latter removes the need for Flashing Blade or Heavy Blade; the choice here will be primarily up to personal preference.
  • Similarly, her choice of AoE Special is also dependent on personal preference, but Blazing AoE Specials are generally preferred given their higher damage modifier. Blazing Wind and Blazing Light have the most generally useful ranges among those.
  • For Louise’s A skill, if not using Flashing Blade 4 or Heavy Blade 4 (due to using it as a Sacred Seal or not at all for Slaying Bow sets), Life and Death is ideal as any sources of visible Attack prove quite useful due to the way AoE Special damage is calculated. Should the five-point reduction to her defenses be deemed too detrimental, Fury is another candidate.
  • Time’s Pulse works well to lessen the initial setup necessary to commence the Special Spiral chain, though it is rather cost-intensive so more accessible options include Def Smoke and Savage Blow to help supplement Louise’s OHKO potential; the former being quite valuable when refresher support is available.
  • Beyond the aforementioned Flashing Blade and Heavy Blade, her Sacred Seal options are divided between further boosts to her visible Attack, Hardy Bearing to work around Vantage units, and Quickened Pulse to let her access her initial activation faster.

Strengths

Phenomenal Offensive Statline

Louise boasts great combat prowess by merit of her offensive statline’s exceptional base values; with a combined Attack/Speed spread of 37/42, her innate raw damage output and consistency at both performing and avoiding follow-up attacks are among the best in her class.

Good Magical Bulk

Her base Resistance stat of 36 doesn’t trail too far behind either and provides the Lady of Violets with respectable magical tanking capability alongside her reasonable 41 HP. This provides some flexibility on Louise’s playstyle outside of a pure offensive focus, as one can alternatively highlight her good magical bulk for a more defensive playstyle.

Colorless Infantry Benefits

Her infantry status further elevates her versatility via the wide breadth of skills it allows her to access, such as Null Follow-Up, Null C-Disrupt, and her base Atk/Spd Ideal. Coupled with her typical lack of disadvantaged match-ups thanks to also being colorless, this altogether renders Louise quite versatile as a unit.

Weaknesses

Horrible Defense

Given the strong values present in every other stat, Louise is left with a crippling base Defense stat of 16; this makes her exceedingly weak to basically any form of incoming physical damage, as well as dragons due to their adaptive damage quality. Approaching such threats will require considerable caution to safeguard her longevity.
