  • Picnic Felicia’s readily available defensive tools — most notably, her refined Eldhrímnir’s numerous damage and durability-enhancing effects alongside the power of both Fighter and Savior skills — make her best-suited for a tanking role. Considering her innate melee range and ease in maintaining her weapon’s maximum effects against many offensive threats (who don’t often invest in Resistance), this build focuses on her close-range matchups with Near Save.
  • For her Special, Glacies is a fantastic choice to take full advantage of accelerated cooldown from your choice of Breath Sacred Seal or specific ally support (e.g. Brave Lucina’s Geirskögul or Thórr’s Worldbreaker). Iceberg is another option should you abstain from giving Felicia any of these aforementioned venues for accelerated cooldown.
    • She can also use healing Specials for greater longevity, but her innate durability is often enough that she generally prefers a damage-dealing Special instead. If you really want some form of sustain, it may be better to equip the Mystic Boost Sacred Seal instead.
  • The remainder of Picnic Felicia’s kit specifics here depends on whether you’re aiming to leverage her statline’s innate inclination towards Spd or focusing fully on her damage capacity and sheer durability.
    • Speed-Based Near Save:
      • In this context, Savvy Fighter becomes Picnic Felicia’s optimal B skill as it grants full access to a Null Follow-Up effect (as her refined PRF only comes with the defensive half of the skill), eliminating any enemy follow-up mechanics that otherwise impede her performance.
      • Further, it carries yet another 30% damage reduction, which stacks multiplicatively with refined Eldhrímnir to reduce her foe’s first attack by nearly half. Since melee threats often lack a means of bypassing damage reduction, this often translates to a staggering increase in her overall longevity — especially since they’re unlikely to attack twice given Savvy Fighter’s Null Follow-Up bonus and her high Spd.
      • This makes choosing A skills and Sacred Seals that augment both Atk and Spd ideal, as this enables full optimization of her natural strengths.
    • Traditional Near Save:
      • Refined Eldhrímnir already comes with the part of Null Follow-Up that negates automatic enemy doubles. Accordingly, one also has the choice of equipping Felicia with a Fighter skill that enables guaranteed follow-up attacks to stack Atk and Def instead, with her naturally high Spd offering a solid chance of simply breaking through any Impact effects regardless without having to rely on Savvy Fighter.
      • Of such Fighter skills available, Crafty Fighter, Slick Fighter, and Wily Fighter should take priority for their more generally useful bonus effects: Guard (Crafty), debuff immunity (Slick), and buff nullification (Wily). The choice between which ultimately boils down to personal preference, and which A skill she uses as some have overlap (e.g. Crafty Fighter + Sturdy Stance is redundant).

  • Alternatively, though she may be melee, Picnic Felicia’s Resistance-heavy statline also allows flexibility in choosing specialization against ranged threats instead, so this build emphasizes just that with Far Save. A +RES IV should receive priority here over +DEF, though arguably any IV set beyond +HP can be used.
  • That being said, Picnic Felicia’s playstyle doesn’t change much between this build and the first as her primary goal remains tanking. Again, she has the same choices between investing in her Spd to utilize Savvy Fighter or opting for investment into her Atk and bulk and equipping a guaranteed follow-up skill, though it should be noted that the latter may work better in the context of ranged tanking — methods of piercing through damage reduction are much more common among such threats.
  • The primary consideration to be made is the fact that Felicia needs to be equipped with an A skill that enables counterattacks regardless of distance, as this ensures she can actually damage them in kind rather than simply face-tank. Distant Stance and Distant Dart are the premium and optimal choices for their supplemental +5 Res and Spd enhancements respectively, but this is more for the truly dedicated given its extreme scarcity — everyone else can just use the tried-and-true Distant Counter and be off fine.
    • Additionally, the Mystic Boost Sacred Seal may be more important to equip here to neutralize Wrathful Staff effects; this ensures that even if she can’t counterattack against a healer due to Dazzling, such foes at least will deal minimal to no damage.

  • Offering a more “for fun” alternative to her preferred playstyle, this build focuses on bolstering Picnic Felicia’s survivability as much as possible. This comes with a somewhat sizable chunk to her damage output due to the lack of a damage-dealing Special, but she (probably) won’t be dying anytime soon at least. A +DEF or +RES IV helps Picnic Felicia further reduce the amount of damage she receives from offensive pressure, but +SPD also works well to evade follow-ups.
  • The crux of Picnic Felicia’s defensive capacity here lies in her choice of B skill: Hardy Fighter. Although admittedly quite gimmicky, it does feature useful mechanics that safeguard her from ever receiving the full brunt of an enemy’s offensive pressure, most notably through its amplification of damage-reduction-based Specials.
    • To avoid unnecessary confusion, let’s take this in perspective of the primary Special options Felicia has here: Escutcheon and Sacred Cowl, as their two-turn cooldown lets her activate them upon each enemy attack through either a Breath Sacred Seal or ally support.
      • At base, these Specials offer 30% damage reduction; however, through Hardy Fighter, they activate twice and become a more ample 51% damage reduction (since this is multiplicative, not additive) with another five points subtracted from whatever remains. This is not to mention the fact that refined Eldhrímnir carries yet another 30% damage reduction if she has more Resistance than her foe, and that this can pair with a Deflect Sacred Seal to gain protection against Brave weapon wielders as well.
      • This naturally drastically takes away from her damage potential since she won’t gain bonus damage from her Special, but it makes her remarkably sturdy — especially considering that, at least where her Special damage reduction is concerned, it can’t be negated by effects such as Deadeye or Young InnesBow of Frelia, unlike Savvy Fighter.
  • For this playstyle, Picnic Felicia can be fielded as either a Near Save or Far Save ally — the choice, as always, is up to personal preference. Using Near Save is likely better from a damage perspective as Picnic Felicia can always use something like Atk/Spd Unity to help circumvent the loss of her Special, but Far Save is always an option considering her stellar magical resilience.
  • For Far Save, using Distant Stance or Distant Counter is ideal as she needs to counterattack in order to have Sacred Cowl ready for every incoming enemy strike, but she can utilize Distant Def to purely soak damage (though this is likely her most gimmicky course of action by far).

Strengths

Eldhrímnir

The defensive counterpart to her sister’s Sæhrímnir, Picnic Felicia’s exclusive Eldhrímnir originally revolved entirely augmenting her overall durability by tampering enemy damage output through a potential -8 Atk/Spd debuff on foes during combat. However, through its new refinement option, her handy frying pan has greatly elevated the vacationing maid’s performance by leaps and bounds, especially in terms of her damage output.

  • This is owed largely to refined Eldhrímnir extending her in-combat debuffs to now affect Def and making it much easier to maintain the maximum value, but moreover granting a Spectrum +8 to all of Felicia’s stats for practically free — altogether providing access to an effective +16 Atk boost under the right conditions.
  • Naturally, the enhancements to Picnic Felicia’s other stats also come in handy to double down on her inherent strengths at avoiding damage output, and this is complemented further by refined Eldhrímnir’s 30% damage reduction and negation of guaranteed follow-up attacks for her foe (a la partial Null Follow-Up).
  • While she does require a fair bit of investment to get going, all these newly augmented moving pieces help massively in ensuring Picnic Felicia can actually deal damage while only becoming even more troublesome to take down given her combination of high raw bulk and exceptional Spd.

(P.S: As an added benefit, Eldhrímnir also carries bonus damage against beast damage which… is a bit weird, in all honesty, but this is the rarest type of effectiveness available so it’s a unique niche for her that is more than welcome when it comes into play).

Good Speed & Defensive Stats

Picnic Felicia’s combination of reasonable Speed and mixed bulk synergizes excellently with the defensive advantages provided by Eldhrímnir, adding to her proficiency at absorbing damage and evading doubles. Her Defense is admittedly on the weaker side compared to the average modern armored unit, but it’s readily boosted post-refinement to a more competitive level.

Armored Benefits

Her armored status massively improves the off-duty maid’s viability by virtue of imparting her with phenomenal skill accessibility. From the Fighter skill line that enhances her combat quality through exclusive bonuses (e.g. debuff immunity from Slick Fighter, dual-phase Breath from Special Fighter, etc.) to the Savior skills that allow her to choose her preferred enemy-type (melee or ranged) without worry of positioning and assist her allies' matchups, Picnic Felicia has an bounty of assets to exploit for maximized performance. Moreover, this also gives the advantage of class-exclusive buffs and a hefty boost to her base stat total.

she is adorable

That's it. That's the strength.

Weaknesses

Armored Drawbacks

Her armored status is a key advantage in her favor, but it does bring some disadvantages as well; a constant weakness to armor-effective damage and poor mobility are things to consider whenever including Felicia into a team. These weaknesses are not exclusive to Felicia as they apply to the armor class as a whole, though, and the mobility issue is pretty easily solved nowadays through things like Armored Stride or ally effects like Tana’s Fruit of Iðunn.
