JWA Weekly Events Jun 15 to Jun 21: Jurassic World Dominion Pt 2

Introduction

Explorers! We head in to the second week focused on the release of Jurassic World Dominion, and it promises to be at least as good as the first. Let's get to it and talk about our recommendations of what to dart before we break down the rest this week has to offer!

Weekly Calendar Explained

Before we dive in to the week, we'll break down how the weekly event calendar works. First, each day is considered started at 10am Eastern on that day. It is possible that wherever you live, it might actually be the previous or next day, so we wanted to help clarify how they determine what day it is. At this time, event creatures & strike towers will be updated as applicable. This information is also noted on the calendar.

Ever wonder why some weeks we’re given 45 attempts on commons and others only 18 or 27? The reason for this is that the volume of attempts is a simple math calculation based on the rarity and number of options. Take the rarity base number and multiply by the number of options and voila, you have your total allowed attempts! Having more variety in the options yields that many more attempts. The flip side is it may be more difficult to find the creature(s) you favor. Below details the number of attempts assigned to each rarity which is used to determine how many attempts you receive (though occasionally, they stray from this math). This is the total you are allotted across all options, so it is important to select your choices wisely.

  • Common = 9 per
  • Rare = 6 per
  • Epic = 3 per
  • Legendary/Unique = 1 total

They recently started putting the number of attempts on the calendar again and sometimes stray from the above. Refer to the calendar for the confirmed counts. Each rarity has a different length of time the spawn lasts followed by a different length of time until respawn after despawn. Commons and Rares will last 1 hour with about 5 minutes between. Epics last 2 hours with about 5 minutes in between.

All strikes and trials are represented on the calendar with the level of difficulty along with how long they last (1 day or 2 days). The trials are shown along the very bottom in gray boxes.

Featured Creatures: Commons

Wednesday - Thursday: 36 attempts

  • Ankylosaurus Gen 2 (Tuesday) (Ankylocodon>Ankylodicurus>Ankylodactylus, Alankylosaurus)
  • Apatosaurus (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Nodopatosaurus>Gigaspikasaur/Nodopatotitan/Stegodeus)
  • Iguanodon (Friday) (Edmontoguanodon>Bajatonodon)
  • Velociraptor (Global Anytime) (Indominus Rex>Erlidominus/Indoraptor, Indoraptor)

Overall

The long and short of these two days is 36 is a ton of attempts, and we don't find any of these worth spending extra time to specifically seek out. Putting them in an order of Exclusivity (and accounting a little bit for hybrids), they would go Ankylo2, Iguana, Apato, Velo.

Voting Poll

As of writing Tuesday evening, the great majority of those who voted in our Discord poll will be darting whatever crosses their path.

Featured Creatures: Epics

Friday - Saturday: 9 Attempts

  • Giganotosaurus (Event Exclusive) (Giganyx)
  • Lystrosaurus (Local 3 Anytime) (Lystrosuchus
  • Pyroraptor (Local 2 Anytime) (Pyrritator>Magnapyritor)

Overall

We are not going to spend the time going over these options in any depth - Giganotosaurus is again the one you want. It is the newest, and it is Event Exclusive. We can not come up with any reason to encourage you to seek out the others unless you are trying to fill out your dex.

Voting Poll

It is no surprise that the extreme majority of those who voted in our Voting Poll will be going for the very new Giganotosaurus.

Featured Creatures: Legendaries

Sunday: 1 attempt

  • Dreadactylus (Event Exclusive)
  • Lystrosuchus (Event Exclusive)
  • Parasaurolophus Lux (Global Short Range) (Parasauthops)

Overall

This week's choice isn't quite as easy as last week's, though we really like Dreadactyus the most. One of its components, Preon, is highly sought after and very precious as it now helps build two fierce hybrids. There is a small opportunity to hunt ParaLux, and we can raid the hybrid each week to collect DNA that way. Lystro may be made of a harder to find Epic, but this is currently the only hybrid that Epic feeds. No matter which you chose, you aren't making a bad choice, so just make sure to get out and use your one attempt.

Voting Poll

Surprisingly, PLux leads the way by a large margin with Dreadactylus coming up second.

Featured Creatures: Uniques

Sunday: 1 attempt

  • Indoraptor (Event Exclusive)
  • Trykosaurus (Event Exclusive)

Overall

We lean toward Tryko here despite Indo's recent buff strictly due to the fact it is much harder to hunt its parts (3 Epics vs 1 Common & 1 Epic). Even if you have them both maxed, be sure to pick one since we never know when a Super Duper hybrid could enter the game!

Voting Poll

Trykosaurus is the preferred choice of most of the folks who voted in our voting poll.

Featured Creatures: Rare

Monday - Tuesday: 24 attempts

  • Dilophosaurus (Local 1 Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Ovilophosaurus, Diloranosaurus>Diloracheirus)
  • Dimetrodon (Global Anytime) (Postimetrodon, Magnapyritor)
  • Therizinosaurus (Event Exclusive)
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex Gen 2 (Global Day/Dawn/Dusk) (Indominus Rex Gen 2>Indoraptor Gen 2/Indotaurus, Tyrannolophosaur>Tenontorex)

Overall

These choices aren't as excellent as last week, and it seems pretty easy to suggest stockpiling the Event Exclusive Therizino for the future. TRex2 isn't an awful choice if you are still working on its many hybrids, but we really think the Event Exclusive is your ideal way to go this week. It's the best way to stay in front of that wall they like to hide so many creatures behind.

Voting Poll

Therizino is the leader in our voting poll, as people want to stockpile this event exclusive dna while they can.

Strike Events, Trials, Scents, Treasure Chase, and Hybrid Pursuit!

Strike Events & Trials

Strike Events & Trials will also be JWA Dominion themed and will reward the same Common, Rare, and Epic DNA found at Event Drops. There is a very tiny chance you may be lucky and also receive Legendary in your haul!

We again have two dinosaur specific strikes this week, a Dreadnoughtus strike on Wednesday, and a Blue strike on Friday. We've also got the Boost Strikes on Thursday (Attack), Saturday (HP), and Monday (Speed) with a Badge strike on Sunday.

Scents

We have a Dominion scent strike on both Thursday and Monday. This scent guarantees one Rare spawn and can draw a large variety of creatures. Pop the "i" button to see which ones!

Treasure Chase

We have a treasure chase spanning three days this week, Friday through Sunday. You can collect up to 25,000 coins and 1 Dominion Scent through each period (Friday will run 11am Eastern to 8pm Eastern, then they will run for 24h each in to Saturday and Sunday, and the final occurrence will go from 8pm Eastern Sunday until 11am Eastern Monday - this allows 4 total chances at the coins and scents!)..

Hybrid Pursuit

This week concludes the Andrewtops pursuit with the event exclusive Arctops!

Daily Dino & Tournament Info

June continues hot with Anurognathus as our Seasonal Arena Reward and the brand new Gigantosaurus as our Daily Dino.

Free Cash Link

GamePress is excited to be able to provide weekly cash links worth $50 cash in game! The code can only be claimed once a week and you must click on it using the device you play JWA with. It will be active from Wednesday, 12pm Eastern - Tuesday, 12pm Eastern every week. This is a promotional code provided courtesy of Ludia, Inc and is exclusive to GamePress. We will post this link in an article we publish each week. We will post all articles on our Twitter so follow us at NewsJWA on Twitter so you don't miss out!

If you enjoy our content, please help let others know this is the source of the cash links people just post for the taking all over social media. The same goes for YouTuber Gaming Beaver. All links have a purpose behind them, and that is to promote some kind of media and drive traffic. Most people simply do not know there is actually a purpose behind these links, and we'd like to try to educate as many as we can. Take a moment to politely explain this in these posts. It isn't free money some random stranger on the internet whipped up. Every time these links are shared, it is taking opportunity away from an intended purpose. Please think about that or maybe find some time to visit Gaming Beaver, GamePress JWA, and the Ludia social medias.

*We can not control when Ludia officially deploys these links, but these are the times they are planned to be active.
