Passive Space Shooter Void Troopers Gets Big Update

  • Passive Space Tapper gets big update with 5 new weapons
  • Killing time (and aliens) has never been this easy

There's been a resurgence of passive tappers in the last few months, and I'm all for it personally. If you're unfamiliar with the genre, passive tappers are exactly what they sound like -- games, where you shoot things by tapping on the screen and tapping really fast, means you shoot things really fast. The appeal in a passive tapper is the time spent and low attention needed.

Simply spin up the game, play for any duration (a minute, ten minutes, three hours and then you realize holy crap it's been three hours), and enjoy the action that feels like a game of Tetris that you can quit at any point and pick up later. And as with most passive tappers, your game actually continues (the passive part) when you're not playing... slowly mowing down mobs and collecting items and resources for you while you're away. Granted, not as effectively as you could if you were playing, but still.

And this passive tapper, Void Troopers, where you defend the world against an alien invasion, just got a big update. There are brand new alien weapons with version 1.2.5, actually, five new weapons to be exact, and you've only got five slots total to choose your arsenal from the possible 25 weapons available. There are various weapon sets that help you defeat a variety of types of enemies.

There's a minion set that helps you take down waves of tiny alien ships. There's a utility set that helps boost all your abilities. There's the main set that helps enhance tap damage. There's a boss set that packs a punch and helps to take down bosses. And there's an idle set if you want to do most of your alien-havoc-wreaking while you're not actually playing.

And of course, you'll likely have to mix and match the various sets to get the maximum efficiency out of your alien destroying powers.

Overall, Void Troopers is a great game for burning some time at the office or in the lunchroom, and you can download it on iOS or Android with the links below.
