Pokemon: Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon: Shining Pearl, remakes of the original Generation 4 games of the Main Series, are just atound the corner. New editions to the main series are always a big deal, and Pokemon Go is getting in on the celebration. As is par for the course, we have a new event in honor of the long-awaited Sinnoh remakes, so let's get into it!

  • A collection challenge will be available
  • Sinnoh-themed Avatar items and stickers will be available
  • All Cresselia caught during this event will know the Elite Move Grass Knot.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl will be released on Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2021!

Experience the Sinnoh region in an adventure reborn with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl! In celebration of the release of these games on Nintendo Switch, Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will be appearing more often in Pokémon GO. Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup wearing special Sinnoh-inspired hats will be appearing in the wild, and avatar items inspired by those same first partner Pokémon will be available in the shop.

In celebration of these costumed Pokémon making their debut, a Collection Challenge will be available that requires you to catch them all.

Complete the challenge to earn 1,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Froslass!

New Avatar Items, Stickers, and Bundles

The following new avatar items will be available in the in-game shop starting on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8) and will continue to be available after the event ends!

You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

  • Event Box (one-time exchange): 20 Poké Balls, one Sinnoh Stone
  • Great Box (300 PokéCoins - one-time exchange): three Super Incubators, two Incubators, one Lure Module

The first half of the event begins with an homage to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond! Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup wearing red Sinnoh hats will be appearing in the wild, and that same trio wearing white Sinnoh hats will be available as Field Research encounters. If you’re lucky, you might find a Shiny Turtwig, Shiny Chimchar, or Shiny Piplup!
