Content Update for November 2020

Submit Feedback or Error

Niantic has dropped the information for November's content. During a month known for changing seasons and transition into the holiday season, surely we have a month to look forward to!

For November, we get to look forward to Togetic. This Flying/Fairy type Pokemon evolves into Togekiss, which is currently a dominant force in the Master League and a decent raid anchor where effective. This breakthrough will give many players a chance to obtain a good Togekiss of their own!

An interesting set of raids. While we have confirmation that the sword of justice will not have Sacred Sword during this run, we have two slots for unknown raid bosses. The first is referred to as "Familiar", and the second as "Featured", with a very short window. Speculation is already running wild!

Limited Research Event: November 28

We have a new Limited Research event scheduled for November, but as of right now the Pokemon that will be the subject for the day has not been announced. Hopefully it's something exciting!

Game Updates

A new set of updates are coming in November, most falling under the Quality of Life Improvements headder.

  • Pokemon will show their origin information, including what egg type they hatched from, if they're from a raid/EX raid/Mega raid, if it was a remote raid, if it was a special encounter, if it was from the Go Battle League, if it was a Research Breakthrough reward, if it was from a ticketed event, or if it was  a snapshot encounter.
  • Existing Special Research will be unlocked gradually for newer players rather than all at once

More exciting events and feature updates

Look forward to a Limited Research event happening on November 28, 2020! The featured Pokémon will be announced at a later date.

Soon, you’ll be able to see more information about the Pokémon you’ve come to know and love! For example, if your Pokémon hatched from an Egg, you’ll see which type of Egg it hatched from. If you caught your Pokémon in an encounter after a raid, you’ll be able to see more details about that raid, such as whether it was an EX Raid or a Mega Raid, or whether you battled in the raid remotely or in person. You’ll also see whether you met your Pokémon in a special encounter, such as in an encounter after GO Battle League win, in a Research Breakthrough encounter, or in a surprise encounter after you take a snapshot. You’ll even be able to see whether you caught your Pokémon during one of our ticketed events, like Pokémon GO Fest! We hope this update lets you and your Pokémon take a stroll down memory lane together and reminisce on the happy memories of your meeting!

We’re also updating when Trainers will receive Special Research lines released in the past so that it is not overwhelming for new Trainers. For example, instead of receiving multiple Special Research lines after completing the A Mythical Discovery Special Research, Trainers will receive them later after they make more progress with the Special Research lines they have. This will not affect any Trainers who have already received all of the past Special Research lines.

There’s much to look forward to in November! Let us know what you’re looking forward to the most on social media by using #PokemonGO.
