Article by Brian Tein

The Solstice event is a staple for Pokemon Go. It's the rise of a new season, and it basically always features a "changing of the guard", so to speak, when it comes to select Pokemon spawns.

And now it's back again! The longest day in the Northern hemisphere and the shortest day in the Southern hemisphere is  cause for celebration, but we also have the return of Regigigas, freshly returned after its EX raid run was cut short due to Covid last year!

  • Lunatone and Solrock will spawn more frequently, and will change places after the event
  • Buddies will enjoy half the normal walking distance to earn hearts, and will be more likely to give gifts

Beyond all of this, we will also have Regigigas returning to raids for this event. We haven't seen this Normal Type Legendary Pokemon for some time, so it will be a nice dex filler for many, while others will want to hunt its shiny forme, which will make its debut with this release!
