821 growlith seen still no shiny

It's not unusual, just slightly unlucky.

It's random. Today my brother, a friend and I we did a Heatran raid and after that, a Growlithe spawned in front of the gym. I didn't get it, my friend didn't get it but my brother got the shiny Growlithe. See? It's just RNG.

Is that 821 since they released the shiny, or 821 total?

I've been playing the whole time (tho not in a Growlithe biome) and it says I've seen a TOTAL of 758...I caught this one just before Xmas...level 35 and 15a, way better than me finally getting a shiny Murkrow 11/11/11...level 2.

Unlucky, yes. Unusual, no. I've seen over 1700 swablu and still no shiny, and 1800 Magikarp with 4 shiny. It's all random.

Inverse for me, 3 shiny togepi in 8 months from only 16 togepi hatches.

Its all RNG, im 780 seen karp and still no golden fish.

It's just RNG. Pretty unfortunate that after so many sightings you havent encountered one. I find it that shinys spawn when you aren't expecting them. I caught a shiney growthwite a couple days before xmas in central mexico. Good luck!

Just keep trying. So far I have two shinies out of 897 caught, the 1/450 chance is still applied on my case.

Happened to me too, i had caught around 200 Growlithes since the shiny came out.

RNG. It's very unlikely that you'd always get the shiny around or below 450 catches. You've been lucky until now. For some examples, I have 0/1000 on Murkrow and 3/800 on Wailmer since their shinies were released. Variance like this is perfectly normal.
