We're on our way back to Alola, as the Island Deity Tapu Koko is making its grand return, and we have an entire event revolving around it as well. Get ready for the storm, because a flash of lightning is coming!

  • A selection of Pokemon will spawn more frequently in the wild
    • Among them, Shiny Helioptile will be available for the first time
  • A selection of Pokemon will be available in raids
    • Among them, Shiny Tapu Koko will be available for the first time
  • A selection of Pokemon will be available from Research

Team GO Rocket takeover

It's been a while, but Team Go Rocket is back. In conjunction with the Crackling Voltage event, players will be able to challenge Giovanni and his subordinates to capture a plethora of Shadow Pokemon.

February 1, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. local time. Sunday, February 5, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
  • Giovanni will be back, this time sporting Shadow Registeel
  • Players will be able to use Charged TMs to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokemon
  • The Rocket Leaders will sport new Pokemon, and Shadow Alolan Vulpix, Shadow Spoink, Shadow Blitzle, and Shadow Joltik will make their debut
  • Players will be able to complete Field Research to gather Mysterious Components
