Overview

Even in the main series Pokemon games, Deoxys defined the term 'glass cannon', with huge offensive stats and awful defenses. Its stats converted into GO exactly as predicted, and as a result, Deoxys is one of the easiest tier 5 bosses to date. The hardest part of duoing Deoxys is relobbying, which is required for non-Psycho Boost sets.

Approach

Team composition

  • Shadow Weavile has the highest DPS

  • Shadow Mewtwo is slightly lower, but with higher TDO

  • Chandelure is an amazing counter, with one of the highest non-shadow DPS totals along-side outstanding TDO

  • Giratina-Origin is the Goldilocks counter, sporting DPS well above duo-level alongside tremendous TDO

  • The duo-viable list is very vast, and includes picks such as Tyranitar, Gengar, Mewtwo, Darkrai, and even the big-name bugs: Scizor and Pinsir. It should be easy to make a duo-viable team, though TDO is generally more important than DPS in many cases, just as long as the counter hits the golden 25 DPS benchmark.

Battling strategy

  • Re-entry will be necessary against most setups.

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
