Flavor of the Month Archive

Flavor of the Month: Cresselia

As a Psychic Type, Cresselia falls prey to a set of Pokemon that many players have long since raised in the form of Dark and Ghost Types, though Bug can also pull through in a pinch. As always; our Flavor of the Month picks are viable, but should only be used as fillers and not raised specifically for this raid.

FotM: The Swords of Justice

Despite the fact that all three members of this trio are Fighting Type, their secondary types mean that no one type is useful against all three. Picking a counter should depend on which  you're fighting.

Flavor of the Month: Darkrai

Darkrai makes its grand return, bringing with it weaknesses to Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. As always, aim for the big-names on this list first, but these Flavor of the Month picks can definitely help to shore up shortcomings in any team!

Flavor of the Month - Douse Drive Genesect

Genesect hates fire, but this time it comes prepared! Water Techno Blast can make this a bit of a hard raid, so pay attention to the recommended Pokemon at the start of the fight, and be ready to dodge if it looks like a blast of water is coming your way!

Flavor of the Month: The Lake Trio

While largely considered to be one of the more boring raid boss rotations in Pokemon Go, the Lake Trio has some value for Dex filling with Remote Raid passes. They're all pure Psychic Type, so Bug, Ghost, and Dark are the types of choice!

Flavor of the Month: Lugia

Lugia, the Trio Master of the Legendary Birds, is back yet again. Its weakness profile is fairly wide, so a number of Pokemon can roll up their sleeves and ground this majestic bulky bird with their unique talents. Just note that running weaker counters to what is, essentially, the great wall of the Pokemon world is not a great idea outside of large groups. If you want to counter this Legendary Pokemon, grab some high-leveled friends who know what they're doing and invest in some solid counters.

Flavor of the Month: Zacian and Zamazenta

The introduction of the cover Legendary Pokemon of Generation 8 is... interesting? They're not in their true forms, but it's still worth grabbing a few for the candy and dex entries. The types to beat this time are Fairy with Zacian, and Fighting with Zamazenta, so there isn't any overlap between the two.

Flavor of the Month: Regigigas Raids

The name of the game is Fighting Types. Since Regigigas only has one single weakness, so it's definitely the overall best choice. As always: the Flavor of the Month isn't a list of Pokemon that we recommend you spend Stardust on, simply a list of Pokemon that can work if you happen to have any high enough leveled naturally.

Flavor of the Month: Regi Trio Raids

Regardless of the Regi, the name of the game is Fighting Types. If you want a budget team to take the legendary titans down, then look through your Fighting Types to see if you have anything decently high leveled, as they can pull duty against all three of these defensive behemoths. As always: the Flavor of the Month isn't a list of Pokemon that we recommend you spend Stardust on, simply a list of Pokemon that can work if you happen to have any high enough leveled naturally.

Flavor of the Month: Yveltal's Debut

Dark/Flying is a fairly formidable typing, but it does have a few major counters, as it is weak to Ice, Electric, Rock, and Fairy. As always: these are not Pokemon that we recommend raising, but they can help flesh out a team if you are short and have a few of these already at a decent level.
