It's time! Since the release of the remote raid system, one topic has been brought up over and over again: The Regional-Locked Lake Trio! Well, they're finally coming, so it's time to put it to the test!
The Lake Trio

- The Lake Trio will be available in regional raids
- Shiny Goldeen will be released, and will have a chance to hatch from 5km eggs
- Pokemon "commonly found near lakes" will appear more frequently in the wild
- Pokemon related to the concepts of Knowledge, Emotion, and Willpower will also appear more frequently in the wild
- A special research line will be available
- New AR mapping task rewards will be available
The Regional Issue
As of right now, the Lake Trio are the only region-locked Legendary Pokemon in the entire game, as we've spoken about in the past.
As of right now, here is how the reginal nature of this trio is broken down:
- Azelf is exclusive to North and South America
- Mesprit is exclusive to Europe, Africa, and western Asia
- Uxie is exclusive to eastern Asia, Australia, and New Zealand
Outside of being near the borders for these raids or meeting with a world-traveler, most players have had no access at all to 2/3 of this trio. But that changes this time.
Remote raiding changes this entire issue, as it has been confirmed by multiple sources that we will be able to join remote raids for members of the lake trio beyond our own regions.
For this reason, we recommend taking a look at the Gamepress Discord Server, and give our raid channel a try when it comes time to search for our remaining legendaries!

During this time , Goldeen will also be appearing more often in the wild and hatching from 5 km Eggs. If you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny Goldeen!

Features
- Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf will be appearing in five-star raids depending on where you are. Some other Pokémon related to lakes, knowledge, emotion, and willpower will be appearing in raids as well!
- Pokémon commonly found near lakes—including Psyduck, Goldeen, Magikarp, Surskit, Starly, Bidoof, and Shellos—will be attracted to Incense, hatching from Eggs, and appearing more often in the wild.
- Pokémon related to knowledge, emotion, and willpower—like Abra, Machop, and Ralts—will be attracted to Incense, hatching from Eggs, and appearing more often in the wild..
- Goldeen will be hatching from 5 km Eggs. If you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny Goldeen!
- AR Mapping tasks will offer new rewards.
- Themed Field Research will be available for the duration of the event.
