Overview

Latias returns with its shiny form for an exciting raid weekend. A very difficult raid the first time around, it should be much easier now because of a combination of new options, the CP rebalance, and type effectiveness change (somewhat offset by HP increase).

It is possible to duo Latias in wind with very high level Dragons, primarily Rayquaza and Palkia. Outrage is nearly impossible to beat without extremely deep Dragon teams (no time to revive), but the other two charged moves are achievable with excellent teams.

That said, an overwhelming majority of the player base doesn’t have the team and/or weather to get the duo done. So instead this guide will focus on the unboosted trio. There are plenty of viable options, but be aware of charged moves. Latias’s Outrage is brutal and can quickly force you back in the lobby to revive.

Approach

Team composition

  • Rayquaza, Palkia, Dragonite, and Salamence lead the way

  • Mamoswine, Weavile, Gengar, Tyranitar, and Mewtwo are options that can make great filler or second team members, an can excel in the proper weather conditions

  • Outrage will rip through your teams, dragons or not. The big fairy types (Gardevoir, Togekiss, Granbull) aren’t good enough to trio in unboosted but are good anti-Outrage options in cloudy

Dodging strategy

  • Be careful with the dodge glitch death loop vs Outrage. Psychic and Thunder are both easy to dodge, but likely won’t make much of a difference in the matchup
