Overview

Latios flew into raids at the beginning of April 2018 for half of the world, and many trainers welcomed the shift after 2 weeks of large Lugia groups. While hardcore players raced to duo it in windy weather, less dedicated players found it a pretty feasible 3 man regardless of weather boost.

In windy weather, most of the best Latios counters grow stronger. But beware: Dragon Claw and Psychic hit very hard when boosted, so expect to burn through some Revives.

Approach

Team composition

  • Rayquaza and Salamence are dominant; Haxorus, Garchomp, Palkia, and Dragonite are fantastic all-around fillers.

  • Darkrai, Tyranitar, and Mewtwo do very well vs. Psychic, but aren’t quite as fast

  • Dialga mixes solid DPS with outstanding TDO and can help keep from needing to relobby

Battling strategy

  • Re-entering is necessary; Dragon Claw may require multiple re-entries

  • Dodging Solar Beam or Psychic can benefit the highest DPS counters

  • Revive Rayquaza-heavy squads mid-battle; create B teams otherwise

Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
