Most people will just get it from the Meltan Box, but the Let's Go Meltan Research Line is an alternate way to attain this Mythical Pokemon. A little Steel Type that can be mass-caught by connecting to a Pokemon game, this is the main way to attain it outside of that very specific situation.
This research line unlocks once the player has attained the Gold Kanto Medal.
This Research Line can definitely be a pain, as at various steps players will be searching for Slugma/Gulpin, Exeggcute, Drowzee, Cubone, Scyther, Omanyte/Kabuto, Lileep/Anorith, Aerodactyl, and even Ditto. It's best to keep an eye on the current and upcoming events/raids when trying to complete this line, and to check Ditto's page to see what Pokemon it can currently transform into.
