Overview
Mega Ampharos hits hard and is hit hard by many of its counters. Hitting the DPS needed for a duo is fairly easy, as many of the counters on this list more than surpass the 25 DPS needed, but TDO can be a bit tricky. Dragon Types take the lead in this raid due to their massive DPS and Electric Type resistance, though Ground Types have a double resistance, and Ice Types... definitely exist.
Approach
Team composition
-
Stick with the top-name Dragons if you have 3+ players, pepper in a few Ground Types for the duo
-
Garchomp is the best of both worlds, though its DPS is slightly short of being duo-worthy without friendship, Mega, and/or weather boosts.
-
Front-load DPS options to maximize damage
Battling strategy
-
For the duo, a smart strategy may be to have one player back out, heal, and re-enter the battle after their 3rd Pokemon faints. This will likely prevent both players from wiping at the same time and giving Mega Ampharos a chance to heal.
-
Align counters to match the type of any Mega Evolutions that any raiders may be using.
-
Dodging is definitely a great idea, especially when facing powerful moves like Zap Cannon and Focus Blast, both of which are easy to dodge.
Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.

- Mega Evolution, costs Mega Energy to use
