PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Razor Leaf is the better fast move on offense, and hits hard with STAB.
  • Powder Snow takes better advantage of Abomasnow's stronger Ice-type charge moves.
  • Weather Ball (Ice) is the best charge move available, and helps to fulfill an Ice-type role.
  • Blizzard is a step down.
  • Energy Ball isn't particularly strong, but can enable Abomasnow to be a decent Grass-type attacker.
  • Outrage has no use.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Razor Leaf sports more than double the base power of Powder Snow, making it better on defense.
  • Weather Ball (Ice) is the best charge move for defense, can be used frequently as a 3-bar move, and is harder to dodge.
  • Outrage offers relatively neutral coverage as a 2-bar move, but is easier to dodge.
  • Energy Ball benefits from STAB but is very slow and predictable.
  • Blizzard is a 1-bar move, which means this snow man might melt to Fire-type attacks before being able to use it.

PVE Overview

Mega Abomasnow is introduced as the first Ice-type Mega Pokemon in Pokemon Go, and it's also generally the best. With a DPS that's just a bit behind Galarian Darmanitan and a TDO that's fairly solid for an Ice Type, it's a solid choice overall that can definitely pull its own weight when fighting anything weak to Ice. However, its secondary Grass typing can also get in the way, especially against Flying Types anything packing Fire Type coverage moves. On the bright side, it's a huge help when fighting Ground Types.

As for its performance as a Grass Type... just no. Use Mega Venusaur instead.
