PVE Offensive Moves Explanation

  • Lick has wide coverage and higher energy gain for Lickilicky's expensive charged moves, making it the superior choice over Zen Headbutt
  • Hyper Beam provides STAB and Lickilicky's highest neutral damage, but it can never be Super Effective.
  • Solar Beam is a strong move in general, and offers some Super Effective damage potential.
  • Earthquake is not very strong.

PVE Defensive Moves Explanation

  • Zen Headbutt provides better damage potential than Lick, as well as important counter-coverage.
  • Hyper Beam, Solar Beam, and Earthquake are all slow moves that are easily dodged, and they all have their own set of unique advantages on defense. However, Hyper Beam and Solar Beam tend to pull ahead just slightly.

PVE Overview

If you think that Lickilicky is going to lick the competition, then I've got to warn you that it's hardly worth spit. Its low power will leave a bad taste in your mouth, making it about as appealing as a case of halitosis. On defense, it's got the bulk to make some attackers bite their tongues, but its moves are so slow and easily avoided it that calling it good is a bit tongue-in-cheek.

PvP Moveset Explanation

Lick+Earthquake and Hyper Beam OR Solar Beam

Lick sports an even 3 DPT (Damage Per Turn) and 3 EPT (Energy Per Turn), as well as a narrowly-avoided typing, making it the superior option for a Quick Move hands down. Earthquake (120 Powr/65 Energy) is Lickilicky's cheapest charged move, and a good one at that, making it a staple. Hyper Beam (150 Power/80 Energy) and Solar Beam (150 Power/80 Energy) both hit hard, but are also highly expensive. Solar Beam is actually the preferred move here, as an Earthquake and Hyper Beam  combo is actually done better by another Normal Type....

PvP Rating Explanation

Great League: 1 / 5

Sadly, Lickilicky has little to no utility in the tier, and faces negative matchups across the board.

Ultra League: 2 / 5

Lickilicky is a Pokemon capable of handling both flavors of Giratina. That would make it at least somewhat worth considering, except for the fact that it's basically a worse Snorlax! Snorlax has the same basic moveset plus the ever-popular Bodyslam and Outrage. This means that the only thing that Lickilicky can do that Snorlax can't is run Solar Beam, which offers no significant advantage.

Master League: 1 / 5

In the Master League, Lickilicky is outright outclassed. Snorlax is an objectively better version of it on basically every front.
