Overview
By making Porygon a tier 3 boss, Niantic threw a bone to all of the lower-leveled trainers out there. If you have a Raid Pass to use and no one to help you out, Porygon is a high-yield option in terms of raid rewards. Its stats are simply too low to pose a risk of failure.
Even a team of optimal level 20 attackers can solo a Porygon with time to spare. At level 30, any high DPS attacker (or Fighting-type) can partake in a Porygon solo with success. And at max level, most Porygon can be soloed with a single attacker.
For trainers at lower levels, watch out for Porygon’s charge moves, which pack a serious punch.
Approach
Team composition
- If using level 20-29 attackers, consider counters that are listed below
- If using level 30+ attackers, any attacker with high neutral DPS works
Dodging strategy
- At low levels, must dodge charge moves to avoid being wiped out
Counters
Porygon is very easily countered. In the interest of brevity, this section will only list the best counters geared towards lower-leveled trainers.
