If she wants one that is both fine for gyms and raids, she should get Psychic. But then you're basically having a mediocre Mewtwo for both occasions instead of a good one for one.

Also, Focus Blast is a lame move...

Psycho cut is better if you want FB. More energy gain. Faster dodging.

Focus Blast. Shadow Ball is good for raids but woeful for gyms.

By the way how does she have no decent machamps when cloudy weather is so common and Machops and Makuhitas are infesting entire areas?

This won’t be popular opinion, but..,
I’d go with psychic. Mewtwo, even with psychic, will be the best psychic attacker for the rest of the game. I’d max that perfect psychic and know that I had that niche covered. And psychic type moves will hold their own in taking down blissey/snorlax gyms

Edit: I guess my problem with fb on mewtwo is that it can’t really outperform Machamp. Shouldn’t a perfect mewtwo be the best at his role?

I have mewtwo in my gym clearance squad. For anything weak to psychic, confusion alone will clean it's clock in no time. That's enough psychic power for gyms. There is also something very satisfying about charging up fb on some junk mon in front of a tyranatar, then one shotting the ttar as soon as it comes up. Otherwise, if machamp gets bogged down, Mewtwo can help with the tanks.

If you don’t have a good fighting type, then I can understand FB. But all you need today is to catch a weather boosted machop or makuhita, and that role is set.

I think C/SB makes the most sense. You pair that with two strong fighters, and you can sweep any gym.

Dude, what? Psychic and Shadow Ball are the best two moves. Shadow Ball is great in general, and great against Mewtwo (so she can take it out easier on her next raid). And Psychic is the best against Machamp. With a Psychic Mewtwo, she can solo Machamp raids and develop an army of Machamps to take down Blissey, Snorlax, Chansey, Aggron, Ttar, and so forth.

Or she can have one Mewtwo with FB that can do some damage to Blissey, Snorlax, Chansey, and no potential for growth in that direction.
