DPS & Individual Optimal Moveset Explanations

I was looking to see if there was any online tool to help me do DPS calculations with a quick move + charge move. In general a damage calculator to see how one pokemon would match up against another in a simulation, factoring real damage dealt, would be also very useful. In general i'm not sure how the transition works from raw DPS --> actual dealt damage works, although I understand it obviously depends on the stats of the pokemon and any modifiers that may be in play.

The reason why I ask of this is because like many others, I use this site a lot to see the "optimal movesets" for pokemon, but they can sometimes be confusing or misleading.

This part is for the developers of this site, idk if they will actually read this (if there is another way to ask them about this please lmk).

I think most people agree that it would be extremely helpful to find explanations of what is listed as the "optimal offensive moveset" and the "optimal defensive moveset" on the page of each pokemon. I realize that this could take time, but it could go a long way to improving peoples understanding of why you listed the movesets you did, and why their pokemon without the listed moveset still may be very good. I did read the "Optimal Movesets Explanations" and understand how you made your decisions, but this still does not offer any insight to me as a user on a mon-to-mon basis. I have no idea how my Aqua Tail vaporeon compares to a Hydro Pump or Water Pulse vaporeon, because you never wrote down the combined DPS of each moveset on offense and defense (which I recommend you do, I presume the calculations have all already been made). I also don't know of any way to do the calculations myself, although obviously i'd prefer if you put the results in there for me to read. In general, I have no ability to go beyond what you simply recommend as the optimal moveset, so if I don't get it, or if I don't like the playstyle of a certain move, I can't make decisions about my pokemon because I am not offered the information that empowers me to do so.

In summary, i would greatly appreciate at a bare minimum the addition of combined DPS for all movesets on offense and defense on the pages of each pokemon, but would appreciate further explanations in general.

I believe this is what you're looking for. This spreadsheet shows how effective each Pokemon is with each possible move set. It compares and ranks the all the move sets in terms of offensive and defensive capabilities. You can also use it to compare different Pokemon (ie-Flareon with Ember/Fire Blast vs Vaporeon with Water Gun/Hydro Pump). If the spreadsheet confuses you watch this video for a better explanation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu4ujp6M188
