I started playing on my gf's account. I never had the courage to start over on my own account and lose all my progress. I was already saying this when I was level 20 haha... If I could go back in time... I also always thought I just had to wait for trading, then I'll start over and transfer all my top attackers to my own account but with that ridiculous 5/5/5 iv floor and the 40k dust minimum to trade legendaries and shinies it's not a good idea anymore.
Now I'm beyond level40, my gf and I broke up in not so good terms and the idea of losing my (her) account terrifies me. I know if i'm logged out it could be over as i'm not sure she will agree to give me her new password to reloggin.
So I am wondering if I can protect myself with the facebook linking feature. I don't have a facebook account but I will create one. If I take those steps in this order will it work ?
1) create a facebook account
2) unlink her facebook account
3) link my facebook account (this is my biggest source of doubt because the account is already linked to her facebook account which match with her email. Basically is it possible to link any facebook account with any pogo account ? I already tried to link my google account but I couldn't do it. I can't remember what was the reason)
4) unlink her google account so at this point she has no access the account anymore right ? Or does she ? What happens if she tries to loggin using her google account after I unlinked it ?
5) change the username as if she ever wants to delete the account, she can't access the game and she need to know the username to fill the niantic delete acount form.
Does this work or is there something I'm missing ? She is the one who created the account so this to me looks too easy... Let's assume she hates my guts enough to do anything she can to delete the account.
...and this is why account sharing is against the ToS.
Niantic don't want to bother with this kind of thing.
It's her account...and when she changes password you will never see it again.
You have 2 choices.
1. Start a new account now
2. Live in denial, enjoying her account until such time as it is gone forever
I never understood why people share that kind of accounts. I understand sharing e.g. a netflix account with your S.O, but why something like Facebook/Google? Or PoGo?
I hope you work it out because you've obviously put a lot of effort into it, but regardless of what happens, do not repeat the same mistake. There is really no reason to share some accounts.
