Welcome to Raid Review, where we take a look at the current raid rotation in Pokemon Go in order to see how valuable the current candidates are and what's worth your precious raid passes and what should generally be ignored! This is an ongoing series for Gamepress where we break down the proceedings into three-to-four different sections and work out the top choices for each, with consideration given to PvP and PvE alike.
Sorry that we're a bit late on this one. We've had some background issues on Gamepress to deal with, but we're back and will once again get back up to date with current raids and events soon!
Five-Star and Mega Raids
Virizion
Formerly one of the most useless Legendary Pokemon in the game, Virizion has actually seen some utility increase thanks to buffs to its moveset. Check out our Virizion IV Deep-Dive for more information!
Mega Abomasnow
Among the most important Mega Evolutions due to its amazing Ice Type performance and solid Grass Type performance. This is a definite priority for those who don't already have it.
Three-Star Raids
The top picks here are Mawile and Medicham due to their PvP utility, though they both need to be traded to have optimal IVs. Also worth mentioning is that they both also have Mega Evolutions coming up. Hariyama is a decent gap-fill and Hisuian Braviary is more a dex-filler.
One-Star Raids
Sneasel's evolution, Weavile, remains a solid Ice Type attacker, though Swinub's final evolution, Mamoswine, remains one of the type's Gold standards. Meanwhile, Croagunk evolves into Toxicroak, which definitely has utility in PvP if you have a good IV build, so better be ready to trade. Finally, Primeape has at least some utility in PvP, and it also received a new Evolution in Pokemon Violet and Scarlet.
