Overview
The Regi trio have emerged from their sealed chamber, and they aim to leave our spirits crushed and potions depleted. All 3 legendary titans are bulky with no double weaknesses to exploit. Unprepared groups may be surprised when they fail to beat the clock. Regardless, small groups are the best way to maximize rewards against a boss that otherwise has little use.
Regice can technically be trioed by a team of Metagross with a bit of luck or some others with the right weather and Friendship Boosts, but this guide focuses on the more realistic neutral 4-person run
November 2019 Note
Regice has been re-released. This time it shows up as a Tier 5 with an appropriate timer, but it has the stats of a Tier 4. This lowers the requirement to 30 DPS total to defeat, and makes a 2-player raid possible with select counters and/or friendship/weather boosts.
Approach
Team composition
-
Prioritize Meteor mash Metagross, as it's the overall strongest counter
-
Front-load with Rampardos for maximum DPS
-
Many other Pokemon are viable in the 3 most common weather types
Battling strategy
-
Re-entering is necessary; standard lineups shouldn’t need >1 re-entry
-
Dodging is mostly unnecessary but may help. Just make sure you don't do it so often that you eat into your DPS.
