Overview
Prior to the release of Gen 3, Rhydon was a very difficult duo, but a few things have changed that. Waterfall first made Gyarados viable, and then Kyogre then made Rhydon easy. Now it's even easier than ever before as Kyogre was blessed with Surf, Kingler can now crack skulls with Crabhammer, a few new grass-types like Roserade have stepped up to the plate, and a plethora of Grass and Water Type starters that have been given their community day moves. Honestly, this is not a hard raid to prepare for.
In favorable weather, Rhydon is trivial with its top counters. You can also be cute and take along your finest Tangela or Wailord. If you are fresh to tier 4 duos, this is a great one to attempt. Surf variants especially are easy mode.
