What Are Seasons?

Seasons are 3-month long themes that play out in Pokemon Go that run roughly in tandem with the real-world seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. They were first implemented in December 2020 as a part of the Go Beyond update. Seasons effect gameplay in various ways, and these ways include:

  • Unique spawns, hatches, and raid bosses for the Northern and Southern Hemisphere
  • Increased evolved Pokemon spawns
  • Boosted stardust for specific spawns
  • Specific Mega Raids appearing in seasonal rotation
  • Special events that match the theme of the season
