Overview
Venusaur is not a hard duo at all. It's weak to some of the absolute strongest attackers in the game and its attack types are resisted by most of them. While it's not possible to solo like Charizard, even second-tier picks can make this Pokemon fall in a duo without much of an issue. Just keep one thing in mind; a lot of the counters on this list perform best with special movesets.
Approach
- Front-load your highest DPS options
- Psystrike Mewtwo is the absolute VIP of this match, with Psychic Mewtwo not standing far behind
- Moltres provides outstanding longevity with great damage
- Anchors such as Lugia, Ho-Oh-, and especially Heatran, can keep you in this fight for a long time
Battling Strategy
- Petal Storm and especially Solar Beam should be dodged in general
- Sludge Bomb can be tricky, especially since most of Venusaur's counters don't resist it
- If fainting out, dodge more. If running out of time, dodge less.
