Event Period

2/25/2021 - 3/18/2021

General Information

We have our first Master Sync pair, and quite a lot going on to go with them! The event itself isn’t terribly impressive, and is nothing that we haven’t seen before. It’s a simple Event Map style affair, where you complete stages and gain tokens in order to proceed on the map and gather items before moving on to the next map. You will need to traverse a minimum of 8 maps to collect all of the items, which shouldn’t be terribly time-consuming if it’s your primary energy-focus and you complete the once-daily stage every day. Keep in mind that the Sub-Areas are worth collecting, as they each give 10 gems, translating into an additional 90 gems for the event.

Leon & Charizard and Marnie & Morepeko Are Here!

Full Force Battle And F2P Solutions

As has become tradition, this event includes a set of Full Force Battles to complete. Despite the confusing mess of weaknesses included up-front, the fight is actually fairly straight-forward, and not extremely hard to beat.

Center Line

Pokemon 1: Togetic

  • Weak to Steel
  • Lower Physical defense
  • Has Reflect, reduced incoming Physical damage
  • Has Speedy Entry, sharply increases Speed when entering the battle
  • Has Fortuitous 9, raises a random stat after using an attack
  • Has High Five, raises Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed after sync move use
  • Has Stored Power, can become very threatening if left on the field for too long.

Pokemon 2: Gyarados

  • Weak to Electric
  • Lower Physical defense
  • Low resistance to Paralysis
  • Has Pinpoint Entry, raises Accuracy  when entering the battle
  • Has Toughen Up 9, raises Defense when hit

Pokemon 3: Vileplume

  • Weak to Fire
  • Low resistance to Burn
  • Sets Grassy Terrain on Sync Move usage
  • Has Light Screen, reduced incoming Special damage

F2P Teamset:

Sycamore & Xerneas - Iris & Haxorus - Skyla & Swanna

This is a fairly easy single-team clear. Most of the opposing team’s attacks are Special, meaning Sycamore & Xerneas provide outstanding protection after a single sync move use. It’s probably best to wait to use “The World is Vast!” until after the opposing team uses their first sync move so that your team won’t waste turns on overhealing. Also worth noting is that while status isn’t a feature focused on in this Full Force Battle, it is possible to end up frozen, as can be seen in the accompanying video. Iris & Haxorus are here purely for solid damage-output. While they take a bit to get started, their power is ample to handle the entire battle if they’re kept healthy. Finally, Skyla & Swanna are great for their ability to heal with Potion and score random flinches with Gust given the proper grid setup. Either way, this should not be a horribly difficult battle given this team.
