Romancing SaGa Re;Universe

On the same day as classic JRPG Romancing SaGa 3 hit multiple platforms including mobile devices, 2018's mobile entry in the series Romancing SaGa Re;Universe has been confirmed to receive a Western release, so far set for 2020.

New teaser reveals 2020 release date

The long-running SaGa series of JRPGs has been making some splashes lately with a series of announcements, releases and updates. Yesterday, Nov. 11, marked the release of a remastered version of the 1995 classic Romancing SaGa 3 for multiple platforms including Android and iOS. At the same time, Square Enix released a painfully short but enticing teaser trailer announcement, shown below:

That's right - the previously Japan-exclusive mobile game Romancing SaGa Re;Universe, which launched in 2018, will be coming to the West in 2020 for Android and iOS. Re;Universe is set 300 years after the story of 3. This news about the upcoming English release of the game comes alongside fan excitement for next month's Switch release of SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions, another localized port for the series.

Certainly, it's an exciting time for fans of the long-running series, and hopes are high that Square Enix will continue to do the series justice. Until we get further information about the details of the free-to-play Re;Universe, fans can check out the original Japanese announcement trailer below and consider trying out the other available SaGa games.
